Awesome game, anyone have suggestions of similar games?

Man I just loved this game. I did the 2 main campaigns and got all badges except on one (which is impossible, due to a bug). I loved the rpg elements as well as the rts elements. The fact that you can build your tank the way you need it, instead of just a tiered progression, or that you can level up your personnel the way you feel, instead of having barracks supplied by an endless stream of soldiers.

Does anyone have suggestions of games similar to this one? With the indie market blooming the way it is, it's hard to find games like this.

Paraworld is a good game imo. It has rpg elements in a RTS game. Its completely different to OW, but it does have dinosaurs.

There was a bug in the original game, i don't know in this one. I'm not buying a new original game since the old cd works just fine. Yes, i am one of the few people who bought this game back god knows when. I don't even remember where I bought it and last year it was still in the original wrapper xD I never touched it before. I loved it though.

The bug i'm referring to was in the Russian campaign, Russian branch, when you have to prove to some Russian big wig that you are powerful. He's one out of 4 that you have to do that, if I recall correctly. I never quite figured it out what it was that he wanted.

PS: Thanks for the suggestions. I'm totally checking out Paraworld. I think i'm gonna check out the other game strategy game from Altar too.

Steam version is the same as the CD version except it has some achievements. Patches work on all versions of Original War (CD/Steam/GOG/Etc).

Well he wanted you to attack his base to prove that you are a great commander (just destroy his base until he'll surrender and the last one will join you because he's coward). Don't remember if that will end mission, but you won't get full set of medals at the end of mission (taken base with force).
You can only take 2 bases south-west and south-east without fighting. Destroy Platonov base and all commanders will join you.
