Save game lost

Yesterday I bought this game again after like 20 years. Had a blast playing, but today I started the game and there is no saved progress, even my achievements are gone, but time played is still 3,7 hours. Any ideas wtf this is? I don't want to start from scratch again...

Do you have more than one profile or were you using a mod? Profiles are stored in the <OriginalWar>/UserProfiles/ directory ( under normal for vanilla OW)

You have 8 achievements according to steam. If you don't see them in-game that would suggest your using a mod (Mods use the local achievement system which isn't related to Steam, Vanilla uses both).
