Fellowship

Why choose this over WoW?
I know it's a demo, but I can't help but wonder why I would should play this over WoW. I could just level in dungeons in WoW or I could buy a boost and rush into mythic+.

It looks like WoW with Elvui, but the game itself feels less snappy and it feels less immersive than WoW's classes.

I feel if you want to do well you need to out WoW WoW when it comes to abilities, sounds, animations, ability effects, and flow.

The jumping feels terrible too, and spamming jump is a WoW pastime.

I will keep playing it more to see if it grows on me, but a little disappointing at the moment.

So far it feels like a clunky unreal engine imitation instead of an evolution.

I mean, it just has the addons built in. We got ElvUI, threat plates, dps meter. It has gear score. It's pretty much all there.

I can only speak for myself here, but I've been waiting a long time for a game like this to come out. I've spent a lot of time in WoW and very much enjoyed the M+ gameplay loop, but I found all the various expansion systems and hoops I had to play around to be tedious. If all you want to do is just run dungeons and progress through difficulty levels, this game stands apart for sure.

It remains to be seen how it will be monetized and whether or not they'll employ modern WoW's method of time-gating, but my initial thoughts are very positive. I look forward to spending more time with this demo and seeing how the game evolves. I think WoW is always going to look a bit better given its maturity, but I respect the devs attempt to decouple the small team tactical content gameplay loop from the larger MMO experience.
really didnt enjoy this, its like i went to endgame as a tryhard who obsesses over DPS meters and just follows a tank around.

I agree the idea is amazing. In theory it's great. I just have some concerns, but it is early.

I do hate the idea that DBM is built in, and DPS meters are built in.

i like this more only reason is i dont need to download 65416541516516 addons to play a game
No need you have to download addons or play meta spec for join keys or have to do pre quests or reach item level.Wow repeat itself many years with not much difference mechanics. But this game have very interesting mechanics. It is up to now add new things to game or keep same. For me i dont care free or not.But really i did not enjoy with Wow even my spec was meta last season.Game is keep going boring instead fun for myself really.

its less about addons and more about getting rid of all the BS that comes with WoW. I dont have to depress myself with stupid systems that require me to spend time doing mind numbing tasks. I can get into a M+ quickly get some gear that may be upgrades and play the game without all the extra crap added on.
personally, I feel this game cuts to the chase. Let's face it unlike FF14 WoW's story is not its main focus, it's just tacked on, your whole purpose in WoW is just to steamroll to the endgame and do dungeons and raids and grinding characters to get to that end game can be a pain, in fellowship you just cut right to the chase and do what you were going to do anyway.... That said I do feel its a bit barebones atm, could do with some more abilities and more character choices.

I would choose this over WoW when I'm bored of wow, because wow gets pretty freaking boring. Played wow for 19 years and m+ since legion and I get tired of it sometimes. I have never heard of a game like this, a dungeon grind game emulating what MMOs like what wow and Elder scrolls online and others have. It's interesting. I hope this game won't get as toxic as WoW, but I have a feeling it will be inevitable.
I dunno how this full game will play out but the first answer off the top of my head would be cuz WoW has been dumbed down so much that a newborn baby could play it by mashing the keyboard.

Anyone who seriously and earnestly enjoys M+ will not quit playing WoW to partake in this Roblox version of someone’s feverdream recollection of what M+ is.

This is the Temu version for players who don’t realize how ♥♥♥♥ they are at M+ to come and try to keep avoiding their own self realization that they’re just trash at the game.
