♥♥♥♥ holy trinity
why the ♥♥♥♥ would you go for the most stupid idea ever ? even wow has added a buffer role for evoker , not to mention how lame it is that after decades bosses of every piece of wow failed to figure out that they need to attack anyone but tanks , make a proper ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game , there should be only 2 roles , damage dealers and healers , and healers only cause there is internet and lag , if not ♥♥♥♥ even healers , basicaly tanks should not have taunt and should just be dps that are speced more towards survival as an option for noobs , ffs whats so hard abt this to make ?

because not everyone wants to play a damage dealer and in some MMOs, like FF14, there are tank busters that deal way too much damage for a DPS to take, thus the utility of the tank comes in handy? Like yeah it doesn't make a tonne of sense that their auto attacks only go to the most heavily armoured member of the party but that's what partywide hits and other mechanics like AOEs are for... Each member has ♥♥♥♥ to do based on their role and just sitting there and bursting it down is boring.

but thats whats stupid abt this entire thing , bosses sit alone , never help each other , have a million different ability , now imagine 10 bosses , having 100 mobs and you and 60 party members taking them on in a less ♥♥♥♥♥ fight system , which one better ?
So you're complaining about a game that is trying to make a WoW style dungeon experience for being like a Wow style dungeon. I think you're complaining about the wrong game here, go play guild wars 2 or something.

So you just want an ARPG then. Everyone is a damage dealer with some support skills inbetween. Attacks are dodged, which means enemies have to deal massive damage to make it actually challenging when one gets hit by an attack. So basically MMO Souls.

Sadly the easiest problem with these games is that balance is thrown out of the window because everyone has the same role and thus everyone competes with each other.

Not to mention that your 10 bosses with 100 minions against 60 party members is a ridiculous idea that isnt feasible with average technology, unless the game is 16 Bit, nor with detailed and complex action gameplay mechanics.

I suggest you just move on. Look into PoE 2 for example. I dont want your idea of a game, not saying its a bad idea, i want what the current game is offering. Holy Trinity, though one damage dealer role can certainly be changed to support i assume. Lets wait for that when the game is actually released and maybe a year old.

it is very much do able with current technology , even if lets say the devs are too lazy to make something that actually is well made , half the size of that battle should be no problem , and no i want them to stick to their own roles , and thats not even true abt mmorpgs , who we kidding , look at wow , compare it to classic , yeah everyone now has some sort of same abilities with very few being unique to classes , and if some game like counter strike has some sort of balance figured out then there is no way balance can be an issue unless ofc you give the game to dota 2 or wow pvp balance dev team

why should games stop doing it when people enjoy it? This is like the definition of the "STOP HAVING FUN" meme.... If people want to play that game then let them, if you don't want to then play a different game. Not complicated.

I mean, we can certainly talk about devs putting some proper work into games, which is a damn rarity for sure. And yeah, i understand the comparison of Retail and Classic, thats why i dont play Retail and loved Classic. In Retail you dont even need a healer anymore because Tanks can just heal themself through most of the content and dungeon running is jsut running. Classic was slow and methodical, dungeon mobs were actually dangerous and healing meant something.

I think its boring if everyone can do everything, even just a little bit. I want strict roles, i want the tank being dependent on me healing them during the encounter. Everyone being damage dealer just ends in competition and thats not really what i want in a coop game.

you are just used to what you been playing and dont wanna try new things , you can even have all the tanks there are in wow , it wont matter much once taunt is gone and they become just more survival centered dps , just need to balance the game a bit more and have something like mount and blade or mordhau or forhonor or whatever else for fighting system

That is single handedly the worst comparison I have ever seen. Horses to cars is an advancement, holy trinity MMO style combat vs action RPG is just a different playstyle.. Also people still do ride horses for enjoyment.. which is also what games are.. enjoyment.. people use cars for practicality, you make no sense.
