It may reset you to the start of whatever event you were in, apologies for the inconvenience. You won't have lost any progress, but you may have to skip some content you've already seen. This is just the unfortunate reality of RPGMaker game updates.

Will achievements unlock retroactively or will I have to start a new file if I want the achievements?

They unlock retroactively

Also worth pointing out that they all unlock on the world map. So you will have to return to the world map after completing something for the achievement to pop up.

I have done this and still have no achievements. Is it because I am at the stage of the game where half the map is greyed out? Like I just met Tamamo and ♥♥♥♥'s about to go down in the capital, but I have no achievements.

I figured it out, I had to switch to the pre-eldar timeline with the portal. All good now.

while this is good to hear i have 2 questions, can your children age? and is there a list of women who can/can't get pregnant (post-game or otherwise)

Yet there is still no "back" or "rewind" button like FWB or most other visual novels.

Sorry if that comes of as rude, but It does irk me that I can't go back to change my choices, or if I accidentally skipped past an image of a character (different reactions, blushing, smiling etc) and I'd have to reload a save. I just don't get it.

There isn't a rewind button because it's just not possible in RPGMaker, otherwise it'd be one of the first things I've ensure the game has.
