Thank you, why does the game have so many negative reviews?

Over the time it's been out there were a few instances where there were bugs or performance issues that people were upset by, and when those were fixed those negative reviews still exist. People tend to not change/update their reviews.

Also a lot of people who have only played 2-8 hours of the game like to just leave one or two sentence hate-reviews because they suck at the game. That kind of stuff.

I still think the overall like, 65-75% positive rating is about right though. It's a very fun game with a solid 20-100 hours of play (depending on the type of player) but it also is pretty basic in the grand scheme. Worth the money, fun to play, loads off overpowered builds; every kind of build can be crazy overpowered. Every individual element, combos of elements are intentionally made possible, projectile builds, firearm builds, melee builds, crit builds, movement speed builds, summon builds, attack speed builds, builds where you die on purpose in multiplayer (or with a specific character's ability in singleplayer) to do crazy ♥♥♥♥, multiplayer support builds to make your friends even stronger, and a ton of other options. Plenty of meta progression to unlock but none of it is painful to do.

And there is more than 1 game mode for all of that to take place in.

However, once you have 20+ hours into the game, you will realize that certain characters, weapons, abilities, ect... are just overwhelmingly more powerful than everything else. They helped make any character more viable with the system that lets you put any character's ability onto any other character, but that also ends up being a situation where you kinda just put a small selection of powerful abilities on whatever character you play depending on the build you intend to go for.

So yeah... it's a great game, but a 70% is about right overall.

Thank you very much for the detailed answer. I appreciate it.
