I tried to like this game but in the end I have too many problems with it to keep playing.

1. The achievements in the game and also on Steam either don't work or randomly work. In the game you need to kill X amount of this and that to get the achievements and supposedly something extra when you achieve them. I have killed hundreds of spiders and humans and the game says I have killed some random number like 3 or 17. If it worked it would be cool but it doesn't work so it sucks.

2. Inventory
While you have a good amount of inventory slots. Most things do not stack and if they do stack, they stack to a random number. Ore stacks to 5. Some bottle of wine etc. stacks to 2. One type of thread stacks to 2 while another doesn't stack at all. The unlocking runes don't stack at all. To make the inventory and looting stuff worse, when you loot something that can stack it doesn't so half your game time is stacking things in your bag to make space for other things.

3. Camera
This is a really bad camera angle for a game. You can't see anything in the distance. If you scroll out your camera somehow you can see even less. I have no idea why but it is true. Houses and mountains, etc. are invisible sometimes while they load in. Once when I loaded a save the world was black. The ui was there but nothing else.

4. Box unlocking game
It is not a bad idea. But 3 different sets of runes that don't stack in your bags makes the whole thing a mess. One set of runes that could stack would make it much better.

5. Magic system
The magic system is ok. I liked making my own spells out of the runes I found. But again these damn runes don't stack in your bag and you also keep the magic you make in your bag. I didn't play a mage like character. I had one spell that could pretty much kill anything I came across. It cost all my mana so I could only use it when I was full of mana.

6. Crafting
I like the way crafting is done. But the problem with it is..... I found a level 9 axe with crafted bonuses in a box when I was level 2. You can't craft a level 9 axe until you are atleast Level 9 and I imagine or hope that I will get another weapon before I am level 9. I like the idea of making some pants over and over to get a rare pants but with the really bad inventory problems crafting is a huge chore.

7. The fighting is not great but it is ok and if it weren't for the other problems I would have finished the game.

8. The quests are ok. It is possible some are bugged. Maybe I am not a great explorer but I can't find a shipwreck anywhere northwest of the village.

I like this type of game but I cannot recommend this to anybody. Legends of Dawn has some good ideas but ruined them with really bad inventory problems and a bunch of things that either do not work or just make no sense.

This game hurt me. It's a game I regretfully thumbed up in greenlight and foolishly bought on broken promises and standard expectations. Like functionality.I wrote a review on this in the discussions awhile ago, but noticed we now have a proper review system for games in the store. So here I am to explain to you why this game is not only not worth your time, but why you should be angry at people like me for greenlighting it.

First, we'll start with what the game gets right. It has some pretty nice music. Really good music, actually, that I'd love to get on a CD. And... that's about it.

Nearly every other aspect of this game is either underwhelming, flawed, badly designed, non-sensical, or just plain broken. The biggest issue this game has been suffering, from day 1, is the framerate. It is absolutely unbelievable how wretched it is. I kid you not when I say, the biggest struggle you'll have in this game is walking through town. Just about everywhere you go in this game the framerate is insultingly bad. I don't know whether to attribute it to poor optimization, or the fact that the developers attempted to seamlessly stream the open-world in this game. The only time the framerate wasn't an issue was in dungeons.

The game is hack/slash, but is so underwhelming that it's almost not even worth mentioning. The animations are terrible. There is no impact on your weapon. Enemies feel unbalanced because the progression and pacing in this world is terrible. The only thing kind of cool about combat are the spells (which you can make, like a fireball or acid ball), which do feel impactful. Unfortunately, the effects themselves look like something ripped out of a game from the 90's. They are HIDEOUS! The monsters were also fairly unimpressive, with only a few standing out here and there (like the tree monsters).

Quests are boring, unemmorable, and sometimes not clearly layed out or explained for you. There are no interesting people in this game. I can not remember a single name from any of the npcs, or MY character for that matter. If there's a main plot, it seems to get lost at some point. The whole purpose of the game seems to be to explore every single inch of the world to find artifacts to reforge The Dawn (no, I still don't know if it's some kind of physical artifact or abstract idea of enlightenment), to save the world from... uhhh... darkness? The game really doesn't do a good job of explaining wtf is going on. Voice acting is terrible and rarely there. There are no npc companions of any sort, making the whole game feel like a lonely experience. Oh, and there's no interesting loot.

The game is full of non-sensical design choices that are either there to waste your time or piss you off. Your inventory is too small. Not because loot fills up quickly in your inventory (which it does), but because you have to devoute 1/3 or even more of it to these runes that you use to open up chests in this ridiculous mini-game that requires you have the runes in order to open the chest, which makes the keys in the game worthless and makes me question the sanity of everyone in this world who uses these runes to lock their chests. Water kills you if you walk too deep into it. Apparently your character is such an incompetent soldier that they can't swim a few feet back to shore. Traps in dungeons can be dangerous in the beginning of the game, but just became minor nuisances. Some of them are unavoidable, and others are literally there just to waste your time. When I had a cage drop on me, I thought I was getting captured by a villain or something and waited a whole minute for something to happen. Turns out the door on the cage could just be opened without anything. Does that make ANY sense to you? The most annoying design choice, however, has to be the traveling. There is no fast travel, and this game is fairly big in terms of size. So getting around is padding in itself. Also, no tutorial. The devs demand players look at the manual, which I find downright silly in a modern game.

Oh, and this will make you laugh. I reinstalled the game a second time after I quit on my first attempt to play it all the way through just so I could give a full review of the game. Guess what? IT DIDN'T SAVE! I had to start all over again!

Legends of Dawn was marketed as an oldschool rpg with no handholding; a concept I was too young to appreciate, but wasn't curious about. What I found was terrible game design/optimization; a boring story (if there was ever one to begin with); and that I was robbed 27 hours of my life at the end. The game was so bad and broken that I just couldn't bring myself to go all the way through. Game sits on a 1/10, with perhaps a chance to get a 2 or 3 when (if ever) it is fully optimized; and that's me being generous. It is a game that completely wastes everyone's time. You can get way better rpgs for less if you look around. Avoid this title, or send it as a gift to your worst enemies on steam. I, for one, am done with it.

I normally only give a game a review if I like it. I figure, to each their own, and maybe I just didn't like a game because it wasn't for me - so why waste my time writing up a negative review?

In its current state, I don't think you should buy this. Plain and simple. I take the Metascores with a grain of salt, but this one really lives up to the score. Overlooking the graphics, the game just isn't up to par. Constantly having to click to move (can't just hold the mouse button down), while trying to avoid getting your character stuck on who-knows-what in the process, is just painful.

I like isometric RPGs (Diablo, Baulder's Gate, Torchlight, etc), and I figured I'd finally give this game a try since it got buried with a bunch of other games from some bundle.

The first NPC you see after spawning asks you to get your gear from a chest on the ship. Is it the ship directly in my field of view, right behind the NPC? My gut says "yes," but my character couldn't seem to board that sucker. I could manage to click him to the top of the plank, and then I was met with an impenetrable wall. After about 5 minutes of clicking around, mucking around on the dock, and coming back, I was able to finally get on the ship by clicking near the crate on the downward plank. I have no idea how or why it worked, but it did. Now where's that chest with my gear? I dunno. And don't get me started on stairs - traversing any non-level surface is going to make you want to jab an old #2 pencil in your eye and break it off.

This really should have been an Early Access beta release, as the game does have some bugs and glitches, and doesn't feel stable enough for the retail market. I wish the dev team luck, and I really hope they can make this game rise from the ashes, because there's a lot of potential awesomeness here.

This is not a game you want to purchase. I obtained my copy by participating in the kickstarter and have to say this is the first real disappointment I've had from the program. The game is quite buggy and prone to crashing as well as having a variety of technical glitches but beyond that the overall design is terrible. On the surface it seems like a pretty typical RPG. Kill things, find loot, gain levels. All pretty basic. But they have made some really poor decisions regarding skill progression, loot distribution, and risk vs reward calculations. Even were the game entirely free of bugs I would still strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this title because of these issues. It's like the designers never played an RPG before or just fail to understand the basic concepts.

I usually refrain from giving negative reviews to anything, but this one made me personally message all of my friends which had the game on their Wishlist.
Lots of great ideas, but an extremely poor implementation.
They should officially apologize to anyone who backed them on their Crowdfunding. It shows the clear flaw on Greenlight, where you vote a game up or down based on what it should be, and not on what it is.

This Diablo-like game is as repetitive as it gets, and does nothing to guide you, as a player. Your first character will probably be a bad one since there's no way to understand anything on the beginning. But that doesn't mean you'll have to restart, the game is rather easy and simplistic under its "Complexity Hood," that is but an illusion coming from the game's incompetent contextualization.

In the end, it is another 'click until its dead, repeat', and an easy one. The combat is slow paced and monotonous. The enemies are always simple and their AI is just plainly bad. The interface is just impracticable, to take an item out of a container is probably the first challenge of the game when you start to play. The game's camera is probably the worse I've seen in, long, long years.

The game has the clear symptoms of an ambitious design. But unmet ambition means nothing. It is probably the worst RPG game I've played since I first laid my hands on the genre 15+ years ago, and I've been through a lot of them.

I load the damn thing for the cards, watch the generic intro about some dawn thing that was shattered and thus sentients are like... lets start killing each other, that sounds blah... I get into the game and what strikes me is how shoddy the design and look of the game is, I mean one thing is to have an outdated engine, another is to make everything look like crap and just badly done.

Well as underwhelmed as I was at this point I created my character and tried to make him look as disgusting as possible (the game does do this well) and then I start my NEW ADVENTURE and... CRASH!!! Tried another time just for fun. Good thing I got this game as a free extra bonus in some bundle. It isn't worth bothering with unless they pay you to utterly waste your time.

Unfinished and badly done game. Even tough I'm from Croatia, same as developers, I just can't find a pro for this game. Overall game is just plainly bad, and another thing not helping the game is that patches are few and far inbetween. Game that looked promising ended as a big dissappointment in the end. Avoid at all costs.

This game had tons of promise; but somewhere along the way the devs seemed to lose their drive. Bugs galore in the early version of the game drove many players (including me) crazy. In good faith we waited, and waited, and waited for improvements that just never came. Do not waste your money on this game.

Kickstarted this, so I was able to play hot off the presses- As soon as it loaded, I wasn't impressed. The intro loading screens lagged and glitched, some of the hair models look way misaligned, and there's no real introduction to the game- I had (and still have!) no idea what I'm supposed to be doing.

Now, months later, I think to myself "Well, they've patched things, maybe it's better." It isn't. This game wasn't worth the fifteen or twenty I paid for it, and I pity those who only went higher in kickstarter tiers.

Don't waste your money.

Game Mechanics are very bad controls are bad you have to constantly click where to go instead of ebing able to walk while holding the left button down which other RPG games allow...
While running you might notice FPS drops/ the game glitching a bit...

Combat is aslo awefulll...

I read the bad reviews about the game but stilll chose to give the game a chance which i regret..
At the Start you get some information and all but when looking through crates and all. then you find out that most crates in the begining are locked with some sort off spells which the game does not explain at all how to get passed... (you will figure out eventually how to get past that

inventory is just... well you collact itmes adn then you have to manually press sort button to make sure the itmes are the correct places aswell for wepaons it doesnt really say if it is 1h or 2h sometimes its says 1h but not all the time

The whole world in general is not quite good IMO..
IF you want a RPG that looks similar to this but actually works and got everything you need + more then i woul recomend games like Titan Quest and maybe Path of Exile
