You don't need to purchase everything for these outfits. Plan quests and jobs to gather materials, buy only what you cannot accumulate via quests and jobs if you're running out of time. Also remember you don't have to finish Chapter 1 the second you are able to craft School Invidia. You can craft it on the very last day (1 day remaining) and use the rest of the time to gather materials / earn Eris (and this goes for the story costumes of each chapter).
If you need specific advice, please mention which costumes you are aiming for and which girl's ending you are wanting to see.
Now, assuming you are talking about the curse and main story costumes for Chapter 2:
Pure Doll requires: 11 x Frog skin (do the Giant Toad Hunting quest), 9 x Queen's Lizard's Claw (do the Lizard Runner Hunting quest), and 6 x Vile Herb (do the Herb Gathering quest).
Idol Superbia requires: 12 x Silkworm (do the Magic Herb Gathering quest), 10 x Sinister Cloth (do the Undead Knight Hunting quest), and 1 x Crimson Cintamani (you must buy this from Wiz).
Also, if you think RNG is giving you a poor time, schedule the jobs/quests you want to do then save. You can reload the save if you don't like the results.
EDIT: Apparently the curse clothing has to be done before the request clothing, and I didn't even see the Quest tab until now that makes getting a lot of items free. Compared to being overpriced in the Wiz Shop.
Yes, this is right. You must lift the curse first in all chapters for Wiz to stock that chapter's required story costume item. For other things, it is only chapter 1 where the curse needs lifting first. Such as for viewing job events (which are not random, as a guide here claims) and hearing some of Darkness's lines during quests.
