Game won't load, only black window appears

I was in the cliff-side cave and as I hit 'C' to save, my computer froze. Upon restarting, I only get the black window when I try booting up the game. I've seen this problem mentioned in other threads, but after attempting various fixes and updates I'm still not up and running. I'm on a Windows XP 32-bit, currently running updates in hopes that that's the problem. I appreciate your help and your patience--as I've said I've tried a few updates and fixes, but because I'm not too computer-literate I can't even really recall everything I've done. Any leads or points in the right direction are much appreciated!

I think you should better send a mail to to the game devs (since I also saw your other post on a different thread and I didn't create this game :) ). Go to 'contact' on http://www.anodynegame.com/ to do so.
