Anodyne Black Launch Screen

I am trying to play Anodyne, but when I launch, I just get a black screen. I am on a Surface Laptop with Windows 10 Pro and DirectX 12 is installed and up to date. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure, but it could be this:

Starting this game stand-alone, it does give you an error box stating that you need msvcr100.dll.

So I installed something that provided msvcr100.dll (this[www.microsoft.com] to be exact). But this only resolved the error message: the game still shows nothing more than a black box.

Okay, turns out you absolutely have to install the 32-bit version of that redistributable. The game works now!

Windows 10, worked fine and controls were smooth on first install for me, nothing extra needed.

I'm also unable to play. I tried installing the file mentioned above, but still just a black box. It used to work on my old laptop, though. Hopefully can figure it out eventually...

Edit: confirmed: fan remake works flawlessly on Steam Deck.
