Any tips on improving performance?

My game turns into a slideshow on levels 7 and 10. It stops on 7 once the spiders start dying of, but 10 becomes reeeeally choppy by the end? Any recommended settings?

the game very much so still lacks a lot of settings for optimization, like No Damage Numbers or No enemy Corpses, since these could reduce Lag a bit, and seem like they shouldn't be too hard to implement as a settings toggle.

currently on low to mid end PCs there isn't much you can do, the game just lags at times.

I am hoping we eventually get some options to lessen the lag a bit.

Aside from turning off all your brackground apps, running in single screen on 1080p instead of 4k, there's not much you can do. I have an absurd computer and it still lags me on level 10 and sometimes others, like 19.
