You actually have a very good topic))
Maybe rebalance the abilities (piggy bank) so they give even more at level 3 than they do now? Than 2 level 2 abilities?
In order for there to be new higher level abilities, you have to pump the level of improvements higher and higher...
I also don't like it when they offer low level abilities all the time the same. But also the reason for that could be a 15 card deck instead of more.
And to get more gold at the beginning of the game you need to unlock that Slime ability, pump it. There is also Slime, which gives more
Based on all this, maybe we should increase the chance for stronger items a bit with level improvement? Or expand the number of items in the list on the left?
Ok so, ofc I use it for a common and simple reason : build golds. It gives you a gold spike. First one i sell allows me to lvl-up my shop, second one same thing, and 3rd and 4th are used to afford rerolls to lvl-up my high-lvl spells.
BUT, there is a few more things to consider.
FIRST : stacking more than only golds
From the main menu shop, you have access to different passive abilities.
And there is one that make this process (spamming PiggyBanks) a bit more interesting interresting : the permanent max-HP bonus per level-upped capacities.
So, ofc, the PiggyBank mechanic costs you inventory space + sleeping golds in exchange of a "little" amount of bonus golds, and that's the point you are doubting about : is it worth it or not.
But you have to consider one more parameter : while you build this setup, stacking PiggyBanks to lvl3 like 3 or 4 times per run, you also stack max HP bonus !
SECOND : what blue card would be better than Piggy ?
Actually, during a run, your goal is to get as much high-tier capacities and make them lvl3, right ?
To achieve that, you want to have the minimum amount possible of low tier cards in your deck, to increase the probability to get the better ones, since you don't want to create a late game build made of low tier cards. Knowing that, while creating your deck, you don't want it to be full of green/blue cards ofc. Nobody wants a build made of 80% green/blue cards, you want to get lvl3 max tier cards.
So what do you do? Obviously you only pick the minimum amount needed of low tier cards to get the deck playable : 3 cards per color. To me it's simple : I take, as green/blue cards passives that will synergize with my high tier cards (for exemple, boosts for aiming spells, multihits etc), 1 or 2 offensive spells (rank B mainly) to help me surviving the early game, and nothing more.
Remember the game forces you to get in your deck a minimum of 3 green, 3 blue etc cards.
So the question is : do I prefere "flooding" my deck with cards that I don't really need and will sell during mid-game anyway, to replace it by tier4 or 5 cards, or do I prefere to simply get the PiggyBank, that isn't really OP but that at least allow me to stack money and maxHP, ressources that are actually usefull ? Do I really have a better choice of blue card than PiggyBank while creating my deck ? Except a few passives, are there better blue cards than PiggyBank ?
Well, my choice is clear : I prefere completing my deck with PiggyBank than any other useles card.
Doing that, my late game build will only contain high tier offensive cards, and low tier (green/blue) passives. Mid tier cards will only be used during midgame, at lvl2, until I sell it when i get my high-tier carry cards.
THIRD : a card you actually buy
Other point : during the run you will reroll to find your carry cards. But having green/blue cards you don't want to buy makes the rerolls having a big chance to show those cards again and again (since you don't buy it, a huge amount of unwanted cards stays in the pool), and so a lower chance to get the cards you actually want.
So, if you actually buy those low-tier cards, in this case the PiggyBank, to stack it, you put them in your hands, out of the draw pool, so while you stack it you also increase your chances to get the other cards while rerolling.
So yeah, for all those reasons, I prefere having PiggyBank in my deck as my 3rd blue card, even if the gold bonus isn't insanely huge, than any other useless card I would not even use anyway.
( EDIT : typos )
