Cases and point? They literally said it on Twitter.
Don't wait, act.
EroLabs doesn't publish this game on Steam, so there is no reason why an EroLabs account should be usable here.
EroLabs, just like Steam, is only a distribution platform.
Pinkcore is the publisher and since it doesn't offer its own account service, then accounts must be created on the distribution platforms that Pinkcore decides to publish this game on, meaning you have to use separate accounts on EroLabs and Steam.
The same thing happens with Nutaku, and why you can't use the same save data on their website and on Steam.
While Nutaku has its own account service and is both a publisher and distributor, Steam uses its own account system due to requiring Steam Wallet for in-game payments (even if you pay directly by credit card, it goes through Steam Wallet for micro-transactions), so that whatever you spend here, Steam takes a significant cut. If it uses Nutaku's account system, then it can't do that.
You can wait till the end of time and the devs still won't "fix" this, no matter how much you complain.
Additionally, the FAQ on the official Rise of Eros website has already stated for months that progress between platform accounts is not transferable or interchangeable.
This should not come as a surprise to anyone when there has been months of prior notice.
