What the hell do ley lines DO?
There's no explanation, anywhere in the game. Standing on one helpfully indicates . . . that I'm standing on one. The documentation for this game is a disgrace.

Simple put , place your mage there and his / her magic abilities are enhanched e.g. more dmg.
The bigger the Glyph (aka Ley line) the bigger the boom.

I've read that some Ley Lines reduce spell cooldowns as well.

I didn't know what Ley Lines were until my last playthrough though, so I can't claim personal experience here.

I don't know if more do it, but the biggest ones (like the one Mitch accidentally put his decker on in the alpha gameplay footage) do reduce the cooldowns by one turn. Handy for Flamethrower since that spell's cooldown normally relegates it to a once-a-turn spell. Stand on one of the really big ley-lines, though, and you can cast it as many times a turn as you've got AP.

There's already a thread for this.

Actually, if you check the help section for mages it describes exactly what the various ley lines do:

Light ley lines are +5% accuracy with spells.

Moderate ley lines are +10% accuracy, +1 AP damage (if present), +2 HP damage (if present)

Heavy ley lines are +15% accuracy, +2 AP damage (if present), +4 HP damage (if present), and CDs reduced by 1.

That info was just added with the 1.02 patch so when the original posted asked about it, that info was not available anywhere.

Good to know that info has been added, though.

Thanks for that guys - I was wondering what they did too :)
Think I should add this to the FAQ page or now that it's on the help menu, it's not a problem anymore?

I'd wait to see if more of these threads pop up now that it's in the help entries, SF88.
