You must be doing something wrong, maybe? My Harlequin was pretty badass with Haste and his AOE spells. Especially during the endfight.

I figured it was on my end as well. I cant seem to keep him alive very long. That and I have no medkits as no one was selling them before i left for the mission.

What other runners did you take along? The last mission is very dependent on how you put your group together. Harlequin *can* fight with sword, though I preferred to use his magic, which was pretty devastating when you had more than one target in tight spots.

Personally, I'd recommend a second character that can heal, a mage or shaman. There's a rigger mage I think, troll, who brings two drones to the party, which can help a lot in soaking up damage when they are set to passively follow the mage. Also he can further heal and buff you while not doing a lot of damage, but that's what the ghost is for. He's badass with his rifle.

I took the ghost and jessie blue. I am also a assault rifle expert, so me and the ghost was mopping up. I couldnt keep the guy alive though

I just set Harly to chase whatsherface around the fight, forcing her to heal and eventually killing her, while the rest of my team focus-fired the bugs.

He actually did great during the fight, it was my mage who got ganked.

Yeah, I ended up with a really bad setup in that one too. Only a few medkits. I decided to use him as a healer / mage only, keeping him out of LOS from the bad guys if I could. Advancing real slow, gladly just ending rounds if it meant a better position or a heal.

The worst thing was when someone got hit with a big 20 dmg followed by a 1 or 2. Meant his heal only healed the little one. So frustrating.

Frustrating, but fun :D

That same thing happened to me, I would prefer a standard heal spell lol kept on getting hit for one and healing only a tiny bit.

Sounds like a "You Problem" meaning YOU have a problem.

Harlequin is great, he was a wonderful asset to my team. I used him to:

Aim
Stride
Have another Haste 2 him

Then he becomes a wrecking machine. Oh and you do have to support him correctly, and he has 2 medkits.

Yeah, that healing mechanic is a bit weird. A standard heal spell with a higher cooldown would have been a nice alternative. Maybe the heal can be tweaked through the editor to work slightly different than it does now for future UGC.

I found Harly to be lackluster also. I played a Dwarf Mage as my main, so his was rather sad in comparison to that. His sword fighting felt pretty pathetic, he would miss or hit for low damage constantly, I saw maybe two 30's. He seemed to be most useful as a scout, using the movement haste I'd run him ahead to help figure out where I wanted to put other characters.

Full Auto Fire (Rifle) just takes out everything in this game if you skilled a bit of quickness. Do that in melee range to destory everything with one attack from mission 2 onwards. + You are not restricted to melee range and still get to destroy almost as efficiently over any range. That alone shows me how little value has been put into balancing the game. The best loadout is a team of 4 mercs with Rifles. Melee is terribly weak compared to that. Terribly Terribly Terribly weak. And that's why Harlequin sucks. Apart from only hitting on every 3rd attempt and not being able to dodge, because that again comes with quickness.

The other way around though, had they made him like his PnP counterpart, you wouldn't have needed a group for that last mission. Or they would have just tagged along, watching him annihilate everything.

I really don't know what you guys are doing. I thought he was bad too, until I started kicking things off using his aim spell on himself first. Also, just to make sure, you DO realize that he has a LARGE range of sword abilities, right? I didn't realize that the first time I tried to play through the end fight. The 2x hit is pretty much what I used the whole way through that and destroyed that one.

Also, if you think 30s are lackluster, it doesn't mean he's bad, it means your mage is a little bit OP or that you've hit a specific combo of abilities that make you particularly strong. 2x 14's in a round is pretty decent damage to anything in that last fight, even if it's not godlike or anything. If you're still losing with your main doing THAT kind of damage, then the only thing I call to question is probably your tactics.
