How do you Pronounce "Tairngire?"
Seriously. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Elf location comes up a lot, and I like to read aloud, and I can't help but think it's supposed to be as unpronouncable as "Ia fatagh'n Chthulu."

I believe it's pronounced tay-urn-gear.

This one sounds about right - I think the writers intended for it to have a sort-of Celtic sound to it like the other elven nation in the setting, Tír na nÓg (formerly Ireland).

It could probably be pronounced a number of ways depending on the language or dailect, but it's most likely sound something like "cheer tarun-grr-uh" by someone speaking gaelic, but Portland doesn't have a lot of gaelic speakers so it might be pronounced "teer tern-guy-r" their.

They both come from irish folklore and they used Tir Tairgire "promised land" for Portland, but had no clue how to pronounce it.

According to the Sixth World Almanac, Tir Tairngire is pronounced "shir sha-irn-GI-ra".

Yep, those weird Gaelic speakers strike again. :P
