Choice of two runs near the end of the game(?)

Either going to Renraku or getting AEGIS from that lab - are these mutually exclusive? Would be quite strange since you pretty much have to waltz in Telestrian Industries to get the story going.. The Renraku job seems like side stuff to me.. so is this even a choice or can you do both

You can do both of them, and I think it's better to go to Renraku first, to get some more money, which you may need. I don't even know if it is possible to do the 'rescue' mission after you go to the lab, but I don't want to make spoilers.
