I'm running a street sam, have 2 essence left and plenty of cash. I can't install any more, and I know how to do it, I've got 3 pieces in already. Argh.

how much essence cost the cyberware you are trying to install

and beware of rounded numbers
for instance create a new geek and look at his char page....

he will have a jack which cost 0.5 essence but essence remaining displayed will still be 5,
4.5 is rounded up

and dont forget you can't go below 1 in essence too

i havent played pen n paper shadowrun for a while but if i rember well the rule of no less than 1 essence is to prevent the gm to say something like ... CONGRATULATION ! you're a cyborg now give me your char sheet and start a new one

Well 4e let you run your essence right down to 0.1. But I think all of the 'ware in SR:R is in increments of 0.5, so odds are you can't go below 0.5 essence.

Fluff-wise, the reason is because the body fails after putting too much 'ware in. Mages and shamans describe it as the soul no longer being able to stay attached to the body or something like that.

I am actually having the same problem. I have no cyberware whatsoever and I've played to the stage where i found sam's killer. no spoiler lol.

Some details, i'm running as a elven decker. is it due to race? I try to click drag, double click, click on the + sign and I can't instal and cyberware.

Metatype shouldn't factor in at all - plenty of cybered street sams and razor boys of all metatypes.

Exactly. If it's a glitch I hope it'll get fixed soon. Honestly this game is awesome. I'm just waiting for the custom stories to roll of workshop.

I have spotted a few glitches in the game, though nothing as bad as this. Make sure HBS knows about bugs! They've squashed a bunch pre-release, hopefully they'll patch it up soon.

I too am playing a SS with no cyberware, plenty of money and essence... would love ot be able to install some cyberware however :/

they should implement alpha and betaware - if i remember correctly alpha was essece x 0.8 and beta x 0.6 so you can have more but its much more expensive

OHAI. I just found out when you click drag the cyberware to your body, den click on the glowing slot, it gets installed there. Maybe due to the update just now.
