I'm a troll and I'm SMORT!

New to shadowrun and I made a troll rigger thinking ya trolls are epic they big they strong yes they a little dumb. But I was horrified when I got to S Rank drones and realized my toon wasn’t smart enough to use them. I feel it one thing to say I not as good as other races to use a weapon but to say I can’t use a class drone because I one point not smart enough? Is there anything I can do to boost myself one point in this game?


I know in table top there cyberware to make me smarter, but haven’t found the cyberware shop yet, can anyone tell me about that or am I doomed to be a SMORT troll that not smart enough to use his last drone type.

Use Karma. Karma is how you level up. If you need to put your INT from 4 to 5, it will take 5 Karma.

Of course, I don't know how you could have gotten to that high of a rank in the drone skills without finding a place to buy cyberware or knowing that you can increase your intelligence with Karma.

Troll Intelligence caps at 6 with karma and I need 7 to use final drone type. Karma won't boost it any higher so was asking if there any way to boost my int one more level past cap.

I'm pretty sure he means the hardcap for races based on their starting stats. Trolls can never go beyond 6 INT and they can never control every drone because of this, which I think is a bit of a shame. I'd rather they had a penalty to intelligence that just required more karma to progress, not completely prevent any improvement beyond a certain point.

Edit: Does intelligence boosting gear allow you to go beyond the cap? If so, do they allow you to unlock the next tier of abilities?

Ahh... There's caps? That's... Not like the PnP game. :O

Guess making a Troll Rigger in S:R is not a good idea. :/

Seriously though - doesn't it tell you right in the purchasing block that you don't meet the req's? It does for me for decks, guns, and spells.

Stat boosting gear won't let you purchase skills - those are based off you're unmodified stats. What it will do is give you the attack/defense/whatever bonus you'd get if you had the extra point.

there are outfits that increase your intelligence and rigging skills...dunno if they let you use the class s drone, but i would think so

they increase but wont give you the ability to use a skill at the level its increased to.

I was makeing a bit of a joke, I guess I was posting as my toon but the main thing is I didn't understand starting screen I picked troll rigger thinking I'd be able to rig atleast useing all drone types. To find out now that i one point away from useing S drone typed and unless i find a way to pass my raical cap I won't be able too.
