Shadowrun Returns

how did I beat the SNES version of shadowrun as a kid??
I like most people feel that I am smarter as an adult than I weas as a young kid. I held tight to this belief for a long time. Then a few months ago I loaded up the SNES version of Shadowrun, and I have to ask my self, HOW THE HELL DID I BEAT THIS GAME WITHOUT THE INTERNET?

Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but some things are so obscure, or you have to ask the right question at the right time or else you are screwed. This game was great, but could be a beast with some of the events that you needed the right key phrase, or clean water in a bottle... yeah good times hehe.

i hear ya man same goes for me too. i can't see how i beat some of the games on the old system either when i was a kid :)
I'm playing it on my linux box through an emulator. Definately not meant for keyboard control.

oh dear god, you like pain don't you s.plisskin??

to be fair even with a controller the controlls weren't the greatest. If they would have made it a PC version with mouse controlls it would have been great.

I don't know about you, but for me it's the amount of games. When I was a kid I didn't have many games, so the ones I did have I played all the time. So I got really good at them.....

Now I have so many that I don't really get good at any because I don't spend the time with them like I would have as a kid. It's not brain power that makes people good at games, it's free time.

My early game of difficulty was Kings Quest 1. Now that game had an obscure impossible puzzle.

Every so often I go back to playing Doom or Doom 2, and it amazes me how I beat it on the hardest difficulty at such a young age. I'm older, I know more. I guess my reflexes might be slowing or I'm over thinking things.

Or I've gotten dumber.

I would say you had a lot more time as a kid then you do as a adult. How many hours do you think. It took you to beat shadowrun back then? I mean given enough time and effort you can figure almost anything out.

I have to agree with you on this one. Me and a good friend spent hours at a time over a summer trying to beat Shadowrun. I guess it's no suprise that I have trouble with it trying to get through it alone in an afternoon hehe

You went in the basement of the vampire lair and killed respawning zombies forever until you had enough Karma to max everything out. That's how.

I'm glad I wasn't very good at games as a child. My younger self never makes be feel bad about not being able to beat games of my youth :D

You could just be getting dumber as you age.

I know I am.

Seriously though, I've had occasion to revist some of my old games (of all sorts) myself, and the only conclusion I've come to is that I was clearly cleverer as a kid. And I apparently enjoyed math.
