Anyone tried Rigger / Adept?
I'm on my first playthrough with a widely stretched Decker / Rigger with an investment in Charisma > Conjuration (for etiquettes & haste [mostly]) and it works well enough.

However, since there's a limit to 3 weapon slots and I have already spent too much on ranged combat to ditch my SMG I've run into a bit of a snag and will probably never get past 1 drone. It got me thinking, though, since the player can always use his fists - would some kind of Decker / Rigger / Adept with some minor casting investments be a strong contender and make the most of limited weapon slots? The beauty of it would be, that the passive: stride, you'd be apt to make the most of your 1 remaining action point with 2 drones active

I just finished my "spread too thin play-through." And will admit that my only problem was maintaining a low to moderate investment in both drones and ranged combat. It would appear that enemies' chance to dodge scales throughout the campaign to the point that it is only worth bringing combat skills if they have near maximum hit-chance. The thing is, though, as far as the support abilities go: a low investment seems to perform well indefinitely.

Being able to cast "Heal I" appears to have value no matter how much cyberware the user has & regardless of whether or not the player invested in casting beyond the low requirement. There are conjurations with similar utility & a low requirements albeit some have a higher AP cost than 1. Furthermore, utilitarian oriented investments in casting don't necessarily have *that* high of a karma cost.

After some consideration, though, I suppose that it comes down to the value of having Magic Resistance 1 & Stride alone as any of the melee attacks will suffer a low hit chance vs higher enemies barring a high karma investment in str / close combat.

I don't really see a problem being a rigger / decker in the campaign. There is more than enough karma to have both (and then some). Alternating between support casting and mark target while running 1-2 drones seems pretty solid (as long as the drones keep up w/ the arms race of hit chance vs dodge chance which is somewhat lessened with mark via decking). I guess, maybe, I should have gone for the straight-up shaman but the possibility of a powerful summon turning on me in the first round after it's creation is a real turn-off.
