yes. it is also fair introduction to shadowrun world and gameplay (also more complex dragonfall gameplay, and hopefully, upcoming gameplay of honk kong).
i think, that deckers and mages/shamans are most fun. arguably true faces of this world. you won't get a chance to be a hacker in magically active world in many games... or dungeons and dragons style spells casting character in high-tech world...
The Rigger for tripling your base AP (two drones, 4 ap each) and shooting everything that moves or doesn't stop twitching fast enough, plus having an expendable bullet shield to cover your flank.
For the Mage, it's great fun thinking outside the box and taking crowd control and support spells. Heal, Aim, Blind, Mind Wipe, Glue, and Petrification means you control the battlefield and dictate the flow of battle. You may not bring the thump to most fights, but you can single handedly reduce enemies to pawing at you like sickly kittens.
The Adept, if built right, quickly becomes a whirling dervish of paralyzing (AP damage) mayhem that can easily overpower practically any enemy in 1v1 combat, and even groups if they clump up (Cleave everyone and watch the limbs fly!).
In conclusion, while the game may be short and linear, all of the archetypes can be fun, and it's actually worth it to play through a few times just to find all the branching paths that different abilities open up during the missions.
very true. but deckers can also be great with firearms. and they are implants-friendly. ;]
