Accuracy went way down?
I have a Shaman/Rifleman that has been slaying ass all over town... well until recently. I'm on the APEX run and I have noticed that my accuracty went WAY down. About 25% or so. The only thing I did before this run was install a Data Jack and some Cyber Eyes for the + 6% Accuracy boost. Does the Apex run have some guys with really high dodge or something? I used to see +90% accuracy with my rifle BEFORE I had cybernetic implants, but it doesn't make sense... O yeah, and my weapon is Smartlinked... O yeah, and I use the Aim spell, but that only is raising it too near 70%, but closer to 65%.... Do I need to rewind?

You are in the part where things went epic , where NPC are currently a bit above your toon .
Before hand your toon was above all the NPC and AI .

Now you are behind the curve , check your party members they are a bit beter then you are now
That is why the difficulty increased , aside from Scaling AI based on your character savedata .

It is not a bug , I tought it was a smart way to provide you with a challenge .

For me I remember more troubles with the Matrix part when you choose free apex. I haven't played many time this part but tried a second time to check a bug later, and both time Blitz was great particularly against robots, but could have been just RNG stuff.

In Dragonfall you need to be much more aggressive about raising the stat/skill that increases accuracy for you than in DMS. (Including the matrix) The enemies seem to be raising their dodge skill. Or be prepared to buff your aim.

Which makes aim enhancing go from 'uneccessary' to 'essential.'

I agree with you. I didn't use an OP character but anyway you have 3 companions and it's constant struggle on aiming, definitely the core mechanism to manage in Dragonfall. That's why the Decker skill to mark target is handy stuff to constantly think of. Or with your shaman throught two time before an automatic haste, instead two aim increase could fit better the situation. And again put more care in your positioning to manager better your aiming, it's often better to move once for a much better chance of hit than fail two shots.

ok cool. Thanks everybody! I guess Im at the point where I need to make a decision... Am I more of a Rifleman or a Shaman? lol

I made a Full blown Mage in DMS and he was unstoppable... to the point where I think I got bored with him. So I am having to get used to a new method. I like it, but I think I prefer being a Mage.

Ah you are in the last parts of the game where it is mostly combat .
So using AIM buff from Eidritch still will get you trough if you don´t want to go more rifle man .
I finished it at rifle 7 range 7 and quickness 7 , was more then enough with aim buff .

Anyway it provides you a challenge , even if the last part is easier then DMS final .
DMS final was more like a puzzle , while Dragonfall final is straightforward kill all .

O ok. I think My rifle is 5 and ranged 6 and quickness 7. It was just a sudden shock is all.

I went shaman/mage this time. I find that conjuration spells tend to land quite easily especially with high charisma. With my mage spells I tended toward AoE like fireball and manaball. These spells have hit chances based purely on how far away your target is, so dodge and quickness are ignored! So I buff up with haste IV, then cast two AoE spells or so a round on my conjured ley line... Don't even need eagle when your attacks are non-targeted AoE, wild huntsman would have been killer with this build.

I think at this part of the game I have will/sp at 9/9, cha at 10, and conjuration at 8. Still getting mediocre 82% or so hit chances, but AoE is just as awesome as ever. You may want to sacrifice flamethrower IV at that point for a full pool of AoE FU buttons, if you're having accuracy woes at that point, unless you bring a ley line with you which lets you fire off flamethrower full auto basically.

Almost hate to point and laugh, but at the part of the campaign we're talking about, I'd call those stats terrible as far as a "main rifleman" goes. You'd need serious cyberware and aim buffing to pull anything off with those. Try quickness 9 ranged 9 rifle 7+ and you'll be doing alright with alpha cybereyes/target designator. That said, with the minigun you could still be kicking ass and taking names, since it seems to splash like a uzi/shotgun with spray n pray or wide load and full auto. Design a character around the vanquisher minigun, and you will be unbeatable.

I think my problem was I got too excited about 2 different classes and I spread my points too thin! Dragonfall added too many new things and I wanted to try too many too fast! lol.

Yeah I did the same thing, then started over more fresh since a few quest lines broke themselves.

This was my first character. I usually do that too with new games. Make too many mistakes and just start fresh once I KNOW what I want. I just wish that I didnt make it so far. The story is SUPER good! I think I have decided I prefer to be more of a Rifleman than a Shaman so I will just learn the lower level Shaman things. I do wish Shamans had some different spells. I can't even buy all of them, because Aljernon takes them away at a certain level.

You know what I would LOVE? To be able to create and play a TEAM of shadowrunners!

I actually made it to just past MKVI (quite a distance) with my first broken melee conjurer. Worked well in DMS, not so much in dragonfall. But then I was stupid and had to get body, some quickness for dodge, str, close combat, melee, throwing, charisma, conjuring, and some spirit summoning. That was a hot mess. This new character focuses mostly on charisma for shaman abilities with a little bit of backup AoE and willpower for dialog and AoE seems to bypass dodge.

Conjurers are much more capable in their own right on the offensive now, less of a need to multiclass.
