Any way to dual wield pistols?
I'm not seeing an option anywhere :(

No that would have been a awesome perk LMAO , but sadly don´t think it is possible in this game , cause you would fire two different weapons .

Only way possible is making a new weapon class called two pistols .
And then you still have to do the animations of dual wielding :P

you can always request it , but don´t think they would do it .

well in real life if you see a guy with dual pistols laugh as he misses you with every shot. only in hollywood does dual wielding pistols work.

Shhh, don't tell the kiddies that.

Next they might think if they blow up a huge building to kill their enemy that they will be congratulated and live happily ever after, instead of arrested as terrorists.

There's no DW in the game.

EDIT:

Wait, there's an argument here that it's more realistic without dual wield? It's a game with orcs and trolls wearing cyber implants. I'm sure dual wield is -ok-.

Dual wield is a common thing in RPG style games. And it does have drawbacks to accuracy and all that good stuff. You would basically have to sink a ton of skill points in DnD just to be able to hit someone with your off hand weapon.

Edit: Or was it feats? Those are even more rare.

Supposedly the only armed forces in the world that ever trained with dual wielding pistols (Macedonian style) was the USSR's Spetsnaz after WW2.

I guess they never managed to see this put into practice as submachine guns pretty much serve this purpose. That said, is it just me or is the submachine guns in SR useless?

Eh? I like them. They put quite a few rounds downrange. And as long as your skill is high enough you get more firing options.

It's not just you. Pistols, shotguns and rifles are the only ranged weapons worth carrying; shotguns for damage, pistols for auto realoading (meh) and rifles for range. SMGs provide no real benefits over any of the other categories of ranged weapons and can be safely ignored.

Regarding realisme; we know that it's pretty damn hard to hit anything if you're wielding two pistols -- we don't know if orcs and trolls will return tomorrow, shadowrun style.

hollywood and guys in a fiction setting with smartlink and cybereyes ..is not that much of a stretch.
would have made pistols more appealing for sure.

I'll agree with you on that part; a trained shooter with a few extras might be able to dual wield pistols with some competens. Problem is that trolls are pretty big and pretty soon people will start asking to let their trolls dual wield shotguns, then people will want their dwarfs with cyberarms to dual wield cannons (which aren't even in the game) and so on. Prolly the real reason you can't dual wield pistols in the game is that the developers had to stop somewhere -- not including dual wield, imho, seems fair.

To make pistols more appealing a character should be able to carry a pistol in addition to whatever else they lug around (i.e. have a pistol slot which cannot be used for anything else -- use it or loose it). Autorealoading should come earlier too.

I think Clearer is right on the money. Since we're talking cyberpunk, dualweilding anything can be justified (cybernetic arms can absorb the shock and your neural implant can handle the targeting, woo akimbo sniper rifles). Balancing would be tricky in that setting.

agreed also concealibilty would make sense, a reason to carry one in the first place ...i mean really, who the hell brings a pistol to a assult rifle fight?
without concealibility there is no reason you cant carry the biggest weapon you can find wherever you go ...no one in the game minds.

I don't know about you, but pistols > rifles in Shadowrun in my plays (nothing beats shotty though).
