Only way possible is making a new weapon class called two pistols .
And then you still have to do the animations of dual wielding :P
you can always request it , but don´t think they would do it .
Next they might think if they blow up a huge building to kill their enemy that they will be congratulated and live happily ever after, instead of arrested as terrorists.
EDIT:
Wait, there's an argument here that it's more realistic without dual wield? It's a game with orcs and trolls wearing cyber implants. I'm sure dual wield is -ok-.
Edit: Or was it feats? Those are even more rare.
I guess they never managed to see this put into practice as submachine guns pretty much serve this purpose. That said, is it just me or is the submachine guns in SR useless?
Eh? I like them. They put quite a few rounds downrange. And as long as your skill is high enough you get more firing options.
Regarding realisme; we know that it's pretty damn hard to hit anything if you're wielding two pistols -- we don't know if orcs and trolls will return tomorrow, shadowrun style.
hollywood and guys in a fiction setting with smartlink and cybereyes ..is not that much of a stretch.
would have made pistols more appealing for sure.
To make pistols more appealing a character should be able to carry a pistol in addition to whatever else they lug around (i.e. have a pistol slot which cannot be used for anything else -- use it or loose it). Autorealoading should come earlier too.
agreed also concealibilty would make sense, a reason to carry one in the first place ...i mean really, who the hell brings a pistol to a assult rifle fight?
without concealibility there is no reason you cant carry the biggest weapon you can find wherever you go ...no one in the game minds.
I don't know about you, but pistols > rifles in Shadowrun in my plays (nothing beats shotty though).
