Is it hard?
I'm quite interested in this game, but I haven't played an RPG in years, and even then I wasn't really good at it. So I wonder - how hard is it? Are there different difficulty levels or something?

I'm not the world's greatest gamer and I don't find this game difficult on Normal setting. It is turn based so you have time to decide what you're going to do, the fights aren't that hard and the game is more story oriented and not so comabt heavy. You can also play using the mouse only, you do not have to drag out the keyboard and remember the key commands. The story is pretty interesting too. I'm enjoying the game a lot and recommend it. I'd say go for it and give it a try while it's on sale. Note: Save often and save a bunch of saves before you start overwriting the oldest ones, I had to go back and load an older save so I could go back and choose a dfferent team because I couldn't beat the scene with the first group I picked.

This game has a difficulty setting so you can just play it on easy and not have to worry about it. The game will still be enjoyable that way and if you find it too easy you can change (or restart it) on medium.

I myself play it on hard and I can win most levels on my first try 90% of the time. It's a challenge though and I usually only get through by the skin of my teeth. I don't mean to brag but I've been playing tactical games like these for decades now. It's great if you want a challenge but if you get frustrated easily if you have to replay a level, I wouldn't recommend it.

Anyway, back to the original question: you can definitely choose your own difficulty so it shouldn't be a problem to you or anyone, for that matter, even if you're a bit rusty on your gaming (:

It must have been a really long time because you don't make a team on Shadowrun: Returns like you do on other RPG games...

You select a team, that's very different from making your team from scratch, especially on higher levels. Like you do on the original play-and-paper Shadowrun tabletop game.

i have encountered some difficulty at some points in the game but part of that is my fault as i hold back consumables and i try to optimize for story sucess over combat sucess so stats in my games are a bit underwhelming at times. most of the story sucess though is optional at best as the story really doesn't have many different avenues of how to get there you pretty much win story wise in the end if you had any story success or not. you could just straight dump all stats combat and just muscle down the game no problems but you do miss out on some interesting things that can happen if you do this though also your partners could just fill in some of the skills your missing as well as they are allowed to do so. over all though id say you wont have a hard time playing this game its not like you will be outwitted by puzzles and the only way your outdone in battle is just bad dice rolls and possibly being one sided in combat(being all short ranged for example)

The end game is insanely difficult and kind of ruins the experience. I love how these braggarts say they beat the game on "Hard". Yeah...probably import their character from another version. This was a waste of my time and money and I would not recommend it at all.

the end honestly is not that hard, atleast not on medium. I finished it first try and only 1 medkit, and no magic at all, my main character was a custom build that focused on drones, decking and rifles. with the exception of 1 character who was melee , the other 2 members used rifles also. fight was a cake walk.

But to sum it up, the game is totally worth it, good story with excelent writing and interesting characters, combat is fairly easy on medium so i imagin it would be even more easy on...well...easy.
