Why is it that even when I'm deliberately initiating combat I always go last? Every enemy gets the first attack in every combat always.

Is there a variable to edit to change this? I hate always feeling like a punching bag.

Sorry... But nope. HBS usually uses the "first round" to manuver their units into position, but the game has no initiative system.

One can be scripted, but obviously that only would affect the scripted encounters, in a custom campaign... Not in the core games.

Figures. Thanks for the confirmation. I remember poking around and found things that looked promising, but they never had any noticable affect.
