Game Won't Launch
What happens:
When I click on launch and select no VR options the "launching Project CARS" box pops up for about 1-2 seconds, disappears, and then nothing.

What I've tried:
Checking install integrity.
Launching through NVidia GeForce Experience
Updating Drivers
Updating Direct X and C++
Restarting Computer
Launching the game from the folder and as admin
Launching through Big Picture

What I'm running the game on:
Windows 10 64 bit
Intel i5-3570K
24GB Ram
Nvidia GTX960-- newest drivers as of 04/22/17

Other points:
I've never had the game run at all. It has never sucessfully launched.
Bought through humble bundle so idk what if any refund options I have if there's no solutions.
I get no error codes or other error pop ups at all. Just a brief pause then nothing.

There's something blocking the game from launching, do you have any logitech software installed by any chance ? Is the game and steam added to your antivirus exclusion list?

So the game was already added to both my antivirus and firewall exclusion lists (Avast antivirus).
And for logitech software all I had was a camera controller for my webcam. Uninstalled that and still the same problem.
Could this be a problem with the recent windows 10 update? I'm completely out of ideas at this point.
Thanks for trying to help btw!

Could be something we're unaware but so far i can't recall having others users reporting such situation. Can you check if there's a folder being created within Documents\Project CARS\dbgSession ? Usually if the game launches it creates a folder with a timestamp and within it there's some files(txt), if the game is crashing it will also create a file with dmp extension or a txt with dmp written on it.

Do you have any of that?

exactly the same problem here. After some months of not playing (previously i played a lot) and this keeps happening. I am verifying content now but i doubt it will help. Yes i do have those txt files but none with dmp written on it.

UPDATE! I uninstalled the Logitech Profiler (v. 5.10) and everything worked fine!

Glad you found the issue, thanks for sharing your solution.

So I checked for those txt files and the folder they're supposed to be in doesn't exist. All my other Steam games have folders, but not Project CARS.

I don't think the profiler fix will work for me as 1.) I don't have the folders to indicate that the game even launched. and 2.) I have no logitech gaming stuff (Gigabyte Aivia keyboard and Roccat mouse).

Given the game's apparent odd interactions with peripherals are there any known interactions with Gigabye or Roccat? Other stuff I have plugged in are a USB DAC, and, uh, that's it.

Hmm interesting, that does sound like the game is not even launching. Programs known to cause issues in this matter are Launchers like rAptr which take over control when the game is attempted to be launched, apps with OSD (on-screen display) like MSI Afterburner that in some scenarios can cause the game not to launch (this varies from pc to pc), antivirus blocking either the game executable or steam from launching the game.

Try to check with task manager open if there's any app that is launching or reacting at the same time as you try to launch the game.

Problem found and Cars 2 finally launching again. Found a tip about deleting my old Logitech files after installing my new Thrustmaster GT 500 wheel. Back on track. Hope this helps others.

I had the same problem.
I uninstalled Logitech Profiler and it started up fine!
Thank you very much!
