your mod sounds pretty good... could you take a picture, how it looks and upload it? because i dont know where you put exactly the foam.
Thanks ;)
I will try to explain where to put it. Make sure the high density foam is spongy and will spring back.
Don't take anything apart.
On the backside of the brake pedal at the very bottom there is an indention. Just stuff it in that indention so that it won't come out.
The pedal has to press against the foam giving better resistance and some progression. If you cut the foam to the size in my post it should stay in place (mine did). Just push the foam so it gets under the edge of the indention.
I ended up putting some of that same foam inside the brake spring of my G25 pedals and it helped there also.
I don't know how long the foam will last before it falls apart but it would be simple to cut another piece and replace it. I put at least five hours of racing before I put it in storage and it was still good. I have at least ten hours on the G25 pedals with the foam and it still helps.
