Water Temp in GT3 Cars
How much should it be?
Like, what is the limit before the engine will say "byebye" ?

As a rule of thumb:
Boiling or freezing water is never good, ideally lower than 100°C, but higher than 0°C.

I think when you're over the 140's, it's time to start looking for a place to pull in.

I thought the same, but in my real life Race-Kart is the perfect Temp 62°C.

So I wasnt sure =)

Will the Temp affect my perfomance? Or will it just bring my engine to explode?

Your engine will fail after a while. Only thing to do is try and keep the revs down but either way you will lose time or DNF. I imagine you could pit in to fix the issue but i usually let it pop lol

anitfreeze raises the boiling point btw

That's why they call it antifreeze.
Dog_in_Car May 17, 2015 @ 11:59am
they call it anti freeze because it also lowers the freezing point

That's interesting. I never heard that before. Any idea what it raises it to or is there no fixed temperature?

would depend on concentration levels. waterless coolant is good stuff. -40 to +180

Damn i should have tried that when my head gasket was close to popping lol

50/50 is something like -35 and 225F, 70/30 boiling is around 240F I think. Its not going to prevent a head/block from warping and destroying gaskets though

It may have saved me the embarrassment of over heating in traffic XD Another 10*c and i may have gotten away with it.

Just as a summary:

If I stay under 100 °C its good ok.
But if I am too low with the temp, it wont affect the engine in Speed or so?

Couse on my Racekart, if the Temp is too low, I wont have the full power.

But I dont know if Project Cars is so realistic ^^

So you know, the primary substance is ethylene glycol and it is slightly over 220 (roughly 4+C over boiling point) ideally in high performance cars. It is also found in water-cooling solutions for PCs (thermal threshold still the same). I think the first to use it was Feser F1...works good for a while, but man does it ruin water-blocks.

Water under pressure boils at a different rate. If you know the PSI the water is under you could figure out the boiling point. At one bar of atmospheric pressure water boils at 100 degree C.
