Any way to customize HUD?

I like using cockpit view, but I don't like just having the current gear listed with the tire condition on the bottom right. I want to use the tachometer with shift indicator lights that can be seen when changing to views such as behind the car or the hood view, but with the cockpit view. Can I do this or customize anything else the game displays?

Im pretty sure i saw in the options you can disable/enable what you can have on the hud.

After a race started hit ESC and there you´ll see an option to customize your HUD.
Unfortunately the layout you set up doesn´t seem to be saved after quitting the race, so you have to do it all over again after starting a new race.

I was told it´s bug, and i hope it is because it´s really annoying.

Besides, i think there should be more options for customizing the HUD like in AC, not everyone has a huge rig standing around with all kind of gauges ect......i have only a Speedmaster V2+G27, i can´t even put my smartphone on it to use some of these Android/iOS Apps.

I've figured out how to cycle through the different views like Telemetry and such, as well as how to move the location of the gear indicator, but not how to change the gear and tire wear indicator into a tachometer.
