How to use the Pit Stop?

Whenever I go in the pits, my car goes on and on ??

That is strange. For me all I do is drive into pits and it auto does everything and auto drives out itself and gives me back control.

I request stop, the left menu appears, I make the adjustments and close the menu, but my car goes straight

1) carreer, quick race or free practice.
Free practice normaly has no pit stops.

2) the default pit stop strategy is not good, you must add more to fine tune it, else you spend a long time in the pits

3) for wheels and gamepads, please oh god please, assign a key that you can easily use to request a pit stop and not use the default key.

you must define your pit strategy in the race menu before you start. you must also take care to click on the box of the car you will be driving in the pit stop and sort of make it default setting for that race.

I had the same issue, I was in free practice and got my car a little dented and wanted to fix it. I went through the options to repair all, and the AI just did not stop.

Is there something I am missing?

if you choose the option 'ai driver' an AI keeps driving by itself once the pit is left behind.
i also guess that the AI needs an actual reason to stop before they stop
