BLUF: Same problem but using vehicle records tab and the GPS icon shows my ghost, with time and controller type, just fine. Still hopeful for a fix.
I've noticed the same thing. Exactly the same thing. I'm on the most recent build (as of todays date) and hoping this is something that'll get fixed up rather quickly. My father and I have different schedules but we wanted to leverage the cool time trials feature to race back and forth some so I began experimenting today. I ran maybe 6 laps (all in regulation with no cuts/off tracks) with a stock formula rookie car on a track I hadnt ran before. Initially it showed me the first place for that track/car type numbers in my only local save location then when i exited the menu and returned it showed my data but no time. I was able to go to the online records and see where i was (16th...impressed honestly being in an unmodified car on a new track with an xbox one controller) and get my time that way but i'm hopeful this will get worked out quickly. The ghost it loads from local seems to be fine but hadnt tried pulling the same ghost from the vehicles tab just yet.
As long as it posts to the records and you can navigate to your time via the GPS symbol thats cool I guess but it'd be really nice to have this feature bug free since its something we were both looking forward to!
If anyone else has similar, or different, experiences please reply back. Maybe we can help get to the bottom of this.
This is pretty basic time trial stuff SMS, and quite disappointing given the effort it takes to complete a 12 mile run of the California Highway for example.
Is there a precise (and unintuitive) series of steps to force it to save the ghost of a clean run? On a continuous circuit you can just keep lapping... but on a point-to-point the game automatically shows you the menu to view replay, save it, restart, continue, etc. What do you need to do in order to commit a ghost tot he leaderboards?
