Minimise on startup issue
First time I launched game, no problems. ALT TAB - because thats how I roll. Suddenly, cannot maximise back into the game. Hear the sounds of the menu and music, but just see my desktop.

Close from task manger and restart, see initial loading screen but then just minimises to desktop. Fixed a couple of times by restarting steam and hoping ... but its not working every time.
Tried bringing it to front, switching tasks, 32 bit/ 64 bit,

Can anyone help?

Just one monitor? I've had similar issues, so what I do is simply click the minimized Project Cars Icon on the taskbar, and it pops right back to the screen. This is happening because I use an Oculus Rift, which is considered another monitor. So whenever I click outside the range of the rift, and into my main monitor, it puts it into focus and minimizes all programs running on the other side.

I have replied to this thread on the forums.

It is only one screen, but I cannot get it back in focus

It also happens to me when I don't have logitech profiler already running. So what happens is I start the game, then the profiler kicks on and steals focus, and usually it works like this....I start the game, and the monitor goes black anyway, but usually at that point, it's showing in the Rift. If the profiler messes me up, I only see my desktop wallpaper in the Rift. Since I have a mouse cursor that travels between my monitor and my Rift, I simply guide the cursor to the left, then click, so my main monitor has focus, then I do ctrl-alt-delete and click task manager. At that point I can see my taskbar and then I click the minimized Pcars icon. This will bring it back up on my monitor. If I click on the Rift side..meaning I move my mouse to the far right and bring THAT window into focus, then clicking the Pcars icon in the taskbar just brings me back to a black screen on my main monitor, and still no image in the Rift either. I hope that makes some sense to you. So with one monitor, essentially as soon as the monitor goes black, first thing you would do is CTRL-ALT-DEL, choose "Start Task Manager" then before clicking that icon on your taskbar, just click anywhere on your desktop first, then try to bring Pcars back up. It's finicky, and may require something else on your end, but it is fixable.

I seem to have fixed it a different way, the task manager solution doesn't work for me, it just stays on the desktop with the music running in the background.
What I do is spam the space bar after launching it, seems to work.

Click the splash screen when it comes up lots of times with you mouse. That gets round it.

Hey guys, this is what resolved the issue for me:

Right click on "pCARS64.exe" (if you're running the 64-bit version of the executable), and under the compatibility tab, settings, ensure "Disable visual themes" and "Disable Desktop composition" are both checked. This also resolved the alt-tab issue, when trying to minimize to desktop and back again. I am now able to launch the game via steam, or the executable, or from the Logitech profiler without issue.

Most of my games started minimizing back to desktop on game startup after the 1803 Windows update. I have Logitech Gaming Software installed so I don't know if this in contributing.

My fix thats worked for me with other games is to right click on the game title in GAME LIBRARY>Select Properties >uncheck "Enable the Team Overlay while in-game" or disabling steam overlay globally in steam settings.

Or if steam is important to you you can again Right Click on game title in Library>Properties>Select Local Files TAB>Browse Local Files>Right Click on game.exe>Compatibility TAB>check "Disable full-screen optimisations.

I'm tried to disable full screen optimisations globally by following various guides on the internet and editing my registry settings but nothing seems to work other than disabling full-screen optimisations for every game, and I've got to many to be bothered, so for me the most convenient thing to do is to just disable Steam Overlay globally.
