http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22416-Bug-When-Alt-tabbing-out-and-back-into-the-game-stuck-black-screen
It is only one screen, but I cannot get it back in focus
What I do is spam the space bar after launching it, seems to work.
I know its a bug ridden piece of crap but cmon.
Right click on "pCARS64.exe" (if you're running the 64-bit version of the executable), and under the compatibility tab, settings, ensure "Disable visual themes" and "Disable Desktop composition" are both checked. This also resolved the alt-tab issue, when trying to minimize to desktop and back again. I am now able to launch the game via steam, or the executable, or from the Logitech profiler without issue.
My fix thats worked for me with other games is to right click on the game title in GAME LIBRARY>Select Properties >uncheck "Enable the Team Overlay while in-game" or disabling steam overlay globally in steam settings.
Or if steam is important to you you can again Right Click on game title in Library>Properties>Select Local Files TAB>Browse Local Files>Right Click on game.exe>Compatibility TAB>check "Disable full-screen optimisations.
I'm tried to disable full screen optimisations globally by following various guides on the internet and editing my registry settings but nothing seems to work other than disabling full-screen optimisations for every game, and I've got to many to be bothered, so for me the most convenient thing to do is to just disable Steam Overlay globally.
