And if I'm wrong in any detail, some people will be along to correct me in 5... 4.. 3.. etc :)
i believe the P1 & F1 cars both regenerate under breaking, that was at least originally the idea; the P1 may be more complex.
the F1 car is a 2011 so KERS then does not work like ERS now. it has to be manually engaged with a button (assigned in settings). if you have the HUD up you can see how much charge you have left, iirc you get a full charge each lap.
the in-game P1 is set to 'race' mode so KERS is passive, you dont need to manually activate it, as long as there is charge youll get the extra HP. you can manually activate DRS, which in the mclaren P1 (unlike an F1 car or any race car) you have to hold down to keep it active. even w/ that safety measure be careful w/ this, i really suggest only using it on long straights, IRL apparently any steering input will cancel it but this doesnt happen ingame, so its very easy to send the car into a wall if you use it recklessly.
DRS you should manually assign a button in the configuration, its right there w/ KERS.
