Whover thought it would be a good idea to turn them into race cars needs a straight jacket.
Steering, braking and accelerating all through the same 2 wheels...with suspension load to top it all off...... /wrists
I'm guessing it was a goat farmer, or circus clown.
And still 99.9% of the cars have a tunnel for it in the middle of a chassis :P
- don’t go too fast into the corner – FWD cars will loose grip and spin if the speed is too high
- smooth steering and a proper racing line – aggressive driving and sharp inputs will spin the car
What a surprise, someone using a profile status to "discredit" another forum user. If it was open you'd probably just use some information found there to do the same. Like...
"You only have X hours, you need to play more to git gud!"
or
"You have XXXX hours and you still can't drive!?"
or
"Maybe you should play [insert terrible driving game found in their library] instead"
Generally, this allows for better grip, but also plays against you in corners. You'll want to brake as much as you can in a straight line, whilst in the corner go easy on the throttle until you're starting to exit the apex.
If you feel like you've lost control and you're sliding forward towards a wall without control, you can try to tap the handbrake a little to try and get some angle on your car - then accelerate to try and straighten the car out. This is where having practiced some powersliding/drifting comes in handy.
Go easy on the throttle, spend some time with your car to get familiar with how easy you loose traction. While in a corner, play around a bit, try to slowly increase throttle until you feel like you're about to lose traction. Know you car's limits and you'll do fine.
For example when I switched from my Logitech G27 to using a 360 pad, I always wanted to learn to drive the Ford Capri Zakspeed, but it felt impossible to maneuver without spinning out.
After some practice it is now by far the most enjoyable car for me, it's fast, it's fairly agile and probably has the best engine sound of any car in the game. And I feel I can reliably pull it around any track with confidence.
Another advice would be to worship Nordschleife, it's in my opinion the best track for learning your car. You'll have lots of different corners, some hairpins and straight runs to learn how your car behaves - and it's bumpy as all hell which makes it even better.
If you can get around Nordschleife without breaking a sweat, you'll do fine on other tracks.
Not at all - in fact I'd be more than happy to offer advice...
It is easy to stay on the road unless you ignore cold tires / go in too fast / drive erratically etc...
It is also very easy to stay on the road and as per the real world up your speed gently whilst learning the track and using sensible inputs.
If you drived it like an arcade game then you will not stay on the road.
AI ihas its quirks but they have personality and if you treat them with some respect - ie realise when and when not to fight - they are great to fight with 90% of the time.
A lot more interesting than the on rail AI - for instance Asseto Corsa, GT, Forza....
I have seen lots of AI have offs... just load up Watkins Glen and take the Dallara for a spin.... or Donnington in anything...
You are either after discredting the game for the sake of it or you have not given the game enough time / effort to warrant your comments.
You may not like the game / sim and thats cool - but the expletive laden rant once you address each point is just that.
Im sure you could make a more informed post for not buying the game (I know I could - its far from perfect and anyone with an ounce of sense could post the pros and cons... but what it does well to me is well worth the imperfections).
Project CARS is indeed a fairly broken game, but at the same time one has to realize that it is a simulator through and through - and as with majority of simulators out there, bugs will be far more frequent simply due to the technical aspect of it all.
I don't see why you'd say what you did though, why does him hiding his profile even matter the slightest? It's like saying someone's opinion is not "valid" because their forum post count is low.
It's stupid and makes you look like a jerk.
I dont think its stupid at all. I think its old that people hide behind their profiles and bash away at games.... it makes me think they created the profile simply to do so after they got banned or the profile has no Project Cars at all anyway....
There are plenty of people with a real axe to grind regarding Project Cars and they take every opportunity to do it.
Some were upset before PC even came into existence about SMS going away from sims for a short time others were hurt by Ian Bell's approach on the forums (ie does not suffer fools), some hate the development directions (ovals anyone...) / functional omissions (lacking 3 monitor support / no setups to files etc..)....
Whatever their reasons - a reasonable approach will rarely give an unreasonable response. I dont consider his original post reasonable or particularly accurate... all the poitns can easily be worked with. If he simply prefers arcade racers thats fine but then its redundant saying this sim is pants because I hate sims and prefer ridge racer.......
Project Cars is not a fairly broken game although I do think it could be better and have faith that PC2 will deliver on a number of the finer points that need improving. I also guarentee it wont be perfect either...
In the interim its easily the best sim Ive ever played and am enjoying what is there - Ive had close to 800 hours of fun with it - and yes with bugs, design gaps etc... and see no reason why I wont have another 800 hours more if PC2 does not come before then or something else better comes to drive (I dont count Asseto Corsa, iRacing, Automobilista, RE3 etc... as better although they each have their merits I simply prefer the overall experience of pCARS)...
