Learn to drive better. Brake before you turn for eg.

Whover invented front wheel drive cars needs a kick in the nuts.
Whover thought it would be a good idea to turn them into race cars needs a straight jacket.

Steering, braking and accelerating all through the same 2 wheels...with suspension load to top it all off...... /wrists
I'm guessing it was a goat farmer, or circus clown.

There's worse out there. The rationale behind FWD was freeing up interior space by removing the torque tube down the center. FWD race cars are fine as long as you're careful with the throttle. Time your throttle pickup carefully on corner exit, and you won't have any problems.

Cold tires make a big difference, makes spinning out on corners much more likely that warm tires.

And still 99.9% of the cars have a tunnel for it in the middle of a chassis :P
Also unlike assetto, running into kerbs on the corner can cause problems. Where as in assetto you can drive over them, pcars can be punsihing and spin or throw you out on the kerbs that are slightly elevated/angled.

this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game is retarded, i keep spinning out no matter what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ setting i put and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI is just so unrealistic, AI never seems to spin out or make the slightest mistakes, they get back onto the track immediately after spinning out when the player gets left with some retarded ♥♥♥♥♥♥ control system that jinx them from the start! Reminds me of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ EA and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rubberband AI system, ♥♥♥♥ this game, do not buy it

What a surprise another hidden profile bashing pc....

I had this “issue” too but I looked some stuff up and educated myself on driving techniques. I’m probably the last person to give tips here, since the amount of time I’ve put into PC is very small but try doing this:

- don’t go too fast into the corner – FWD cars will loose grip and spin if the speed is too high

- smooth steering and a proper racing line – aggressive driving and sharp inputs will spin the car

Also try a slight toe-out in the front, slightly looser front anti-roll bars, or messing with the differentials. If you're spinning too much, increase the differential (decel. for turn-in spin, accel. for turn-exit spin, static for mid-turn spin). If you're getting too much understeer and it seems like the tires aren't skipping much, decrease the differential (decel. for turn-in understeer, etc.). As for driving technique, try to finish all of your braking before you start the turn-in, then keep a bit of throttle to maintain your speed, and as you unwind the wheel for the turn-exit, gradually increase throttle so that you don't hit 100% throttle till your wheel is straight. I recommend going into a practice session, focusing on technique over speed, and then once you've got the technique down, trying to get maybe 0.100s or so faster each lap.

What a surprise, someone using a profile status to "discredit" another forum user. If it was open you'd probably just use some information found there to do the same. Like...

"You only have X hours, you need to play more to git gud!"

or

"You have XXXX hours and you still can't drive!?"

or

"Maybe you should play [insert terrible driving game found in their library] instead"

There's a fairly big difference when it comes to driving techniques when comparing a RWD and a FWD car. Since in a FWD car, you'll have the engine's weight on your wheels, on majority of RWD cars - you won't.

Generally, this allows for better grip, but also plays against you in corners. You'll want to brake as much as you can in a straight line, whilst in the corner go easy on the throttle until you're starting to exit the apex.

If you feel like you've lost control and you're sliding forward towards a wall without control, you can try to tap the handbrake a little to try and get some angle on your car - then accelerate to try and straighten the car out. This is where having practiced some powersliding/drifting comes in handy.

Go easy on the throttle, spend some time with your car to get familiar with how easy you loose traction. While in a corner, play around a bit, try to slowly increase throttle until you feel like you're about to lose traction. Know you car's limits and you'll do fine.

For example when I switched from my Logitech G27 to using a 360 pad, I always wanted to learn to drive the Ford Capri Zakspeed, but it felt impossible to maneuver without spinning out.

After some practice it is now by far the most enjoyable car for me, it's fast, it's fairly agile and probably has the best engine sound of any car in the game. And I feel I can reliably pull it around any track with confidence.

Another advice would be to worship Nordschleife, it's in my opinion the best track for learning your car. You'll have lots of different corners, some hairpins and straight runs to learn how your car behaves - and it's bumpy as all hell which makes it even better.

If you can get around Nordschleife without breaking a sweat, you'll do fine on other tracks. :happy_creep:

Not at all - in fact I'd be more than happy to offer advice...

It is easy to stay on the road unless you ignore cold tires / go in too fast / drive erratically etc...

It is also very easy to stay on the road and as per the real world up your speed gently whilst learning the track and using sensible inputs.

If you drived it like an arcade game then you will not stay on the road.

AI ihas its quirks but they have personality and if you treat them with some respect - ie realise when and when not to fight - they are great to fight with 90% of the time.

A lot more interesting than the on rail AI - for instance Asseto Corsa, GT, Forza....

I have seen lots of AI have offs... just load up Watkins Glen and take the Dallara for a spin.... or Donnington in anything...

You are either after discredting the game for the sake of it or you have not given the game enough time / effort to warrant your comments.

You may not like the game / sim and thats cool - but the expletive laden rant once you address each point is just that.

Im sure you could make a more informed post for not buying the game (I know I could - its far from perfect and anyone with an ounce of sense could post the pros and cons... but what it does well to me is well worth the imperfections).

He's kind of right though, those examples he mentioned are typically the kind of responses newcomers get around these forums by eltists. Hell, even if they don't like the game elitsts around here will start a civil war.

Project CARS is indeed a fairly broken game, but at the same time one has to realize that it is a simulator through and through - and as with majority of simulators out there, bugs will be far more frequent simply due to the technical aspect of it all.

I don't see why you'd say what you did though, why does him hiding his profile even matter the slightest? It's like saying someone's opinion is not "valid" because their forum post count is low.

It's stupid and makes you look like a jerk.

I dont think its stupid at all. I think its old that people hide behind their profiles and bash away at games.... it makes me think they created the profile simply to do so after they got banned or the profile has no Project Cars at all anyway....

There are plenty of people with a real axe to grind regarding Project Cars and they take every opportunity to do it.

Some were upset before PC even came into existence about SMS going away from sims for a short time others were hurt by Ian Bell's approach on the forums (ie does not suffer fools), some hate the development directions (ovals anyone...) / functional omissions (lacking 3 monitor support / no setups to files etc..)....

Whatever their reasons - a reasonable approach will rarely give an unreasonable response. I dont consider his original post reasonable or particularly accurate... all the poitns can easily be worked with. If he simply prefers arcade racers thats fine but then its redundant saying this sim is pants because I hate sims and prefer ridge racer.......

Project Cars is not a fairly broken game although I do think it could be better and have faith that PC2 will deliver on a number of the finer points that need improving. I also guarentee it wont be perfect either...

In the interim its easily the best sim Ive ever played and am enjoying what is there - Ive had close to 800 hours of fun with it - and yes with bugs, design gaps etc... and see no reason why I wont have another 800 hours more if PC2 does not come before then or something else better comes to drive (I dont count Asseto Corsa, iRacing, Automobilista, RE3 etc... as better although they each have their merits I simply prefer the overall experience of pCARS)...
