Spectating for Tournament Usage

Hello all. I'm looking to determine how to spectate a live race, online in multiplayer. I have heard mixed information on the presence (or not) of this feature. I can confirm that it is possible to spectate during practice and qualifying, but it seems that I cannot retire from a live race, or enter monitor mode (I have also tried from the pit area).

This seems like an obvious thing as there must have been many closed tourney organizations operating or preparing tourneys in the last three years of development with closed crowdfunding backers. And, well, it's impossible for any of our organizations to showcase tournaments without spectating. So.. does anyone know how to spectate live races? (not just practice/qualifying). Or, is there any information regarding this? So far my group has tried entering the Pause menu pre-green flag, and also from the Pit Lane.

When we did our season events in GRID AutoSport, we had to "work around" the game by taking up a driver slot and then entering the menu > "Retire" and then we had limited spectating ability. We're fine with taking up a slot in PCARS as the max grid size is larger, but we need that spectating option and I'm sure every other league/community event group needs it too.

i was testing this in offline mode, and after the green goes, press ESC and press retire to the pits
See if that works

Hi Nelson. I appreciate the suggestion, but spectating only seems to work in solo play, that is my point. Online tournament leagues need spectating available in online mode.

You're right, this game really should have a specator mode. There are a ton of leagues that would love to broadcast events. Dedicated specator slots would be great too.
