Extreme understeer problem
I have driven in Formula 1, Mclaren p1, Gumper Apollo and Zonda R GT car. In all of them (in single race mode) I have experienced tremendous understeer. Even in the most easy corners, I have to slow down to almost a complete stop (20-30 KPH), to make it through (on default settings). It's like the cars in this game have no traction at all. I've tried to set the downforce of the cars at max and increasing the steering sensitivity, but it doesn't make any difference.
The weird thing is, when driving through a strait, the cars steer as normal as you would expect.

I know this game is no arcade game and all, but come on. If a cheap sedan in real life corners better and has more traction than a freaking F1 car in this game, something has to be wrong.

Do any of you have a suggestion what the problem could be?????

Cold tires?
slow IN, fast OUT...are you braking for most of the curve or accelerating? especially with road cars, that will help a lot...then check out the setup & read the tips, add camber, ...adding downforce actually creates more understeer for example. try turning the DRS on in the P1 in a corner, your problem wont be understeer trust me :)
My sugestion is you have too low speed sensitivity in your controller settings. It should be 100% with wheel and at least 50% with keyboard.

oh and are you moving the steering ratio towards 'fast' or 'slow'? you want it slow, a small ratio, if you feel you are having to turn the wheel too much...default should be fine really but dont go the other way
Did you change FOV? That changes the interpretation of speed a lot.
Thank you for all your suggestions (although I believe "cold tires" is not relevant in single race), but what exactly does the "speed sensitivity" setting do???
This game has so many settings (whitch is good) without explaining what they all do.
Speed sensitivity basically protects you from too fast turns in high speeds. The faster you drive the turn the wheel to achieve the same turn radius.
I'm getting this also, had assumed I am just terrible at racing games and need a lot more practice :)
same issue here as well also a thread on it here http://steamcommunity.com/app/234630/discussions/0/613957600526738850/ or thats where i been trying to figure it out i think i have about given up on this game sadly might dink around another 24hrs then i will delete it if it can not be fixed. Using G27 btw my settings are on the link.
I don't think it's a problem caused by my wheel settings. Like I said in my first post, the car responds normally when driving in a strait.
Finally I solved this problem. I've allready had same problem in Dirt Rally at cornering and to avoid the underster you have to disable all assistants (stability and traction control) becase if your car is about to get slide the stability control dont let you do that.

Cold tires?

Yep, I agree. Cold tires. Give yourself at least 3 laps (in anger) to settle it down

I do agree about understeer most of the cars in this game have this issue. Not all but a lot more then I would like. The simplist method besides slowing to moped speeds is to decrease the air pressure in the tires. For any cars I know that I experience a lot of understeer with, I usually decrease front tire pressure. How much depends your preferance.
As you know all road cars have built in understeer as a safety precaution. Race cars dial this out. In Project cars I set my anti roll bars (or sway bars) to softer in front and stiffer in rear until oversteer is too much then adjust as desired.

Lol, oversteer as a safety precaution in road cars?:-D

Anyway, understeer can also be caused by you being hard on the brakes and locking them up. In that case you should either brake more gradually, or lower the brake presure. I play on gamepad, and I am used to be quite hard on brakes and usually keep brake pressure around 85-90% so I wouldn't lock up and understeer into the barriers.
