Open world or track only?

Obviously there is track races in this, but is there any open world aspects to this game?

Something where I can just take one of the cars out for a relaxing drive?

No open world at all. There are long point to point street tracks but thats it.

Definitely track oriented but you can just "cruise" anywhere. If you're looking for roads with different paths to take, then California Highway has a couple diversions to take but it still is a P2P track. Very nice scenery and enjoyable to cruise on though.

One of the coolest things I'm looking forward to is an "open trackday" session at Nurburgring online. Just enjoyable cruising around green hell with various other cars on track just for pure enjoyment without competing. That's what I call cruising.
