Offline play?

Broadband connection Required? or just 1st install? because i live in the philippines our internet connection is not that stable sometimes we dont have internet, so before i buy this game i would like to know if i can play this game offline/no internet?

The development builds currently being tested require an internet connection to prevent leaks, but at launch this will be removed - the only DRM will be the standard Steam DRM that supports offline use.

You can install from the disc, then download the Day 1 patch with Steam and activate. The main instal from the disc shouldn't take more than an hour (or a couple of days to download with Steam), and the patch download will probably take several hours. I'm also in an areal with very slow and unstable online service, and this is based on my experience with a similar-sized new Steam racing game last year. With the disc you have a choice: download the game or install from the disc; the patch should download automatically.

P.S. When the game is installed you will have to activate at Steam online. Afterwards you can play offline with Steam in offline mode.

Yes, I've been part of WMD since day 1. There was actually a big discussion and vote a couple of years back about what form of DRM should be used - the final decision was to use Steam, and allow offline mode for players like yourself.
