Limited Edition vs Pre-Order vs Standard Edition
What u guys think that the developer cut 8 cars out from the normal no-preorder version of Project Cars?

I bought the standard version from a keystore, what is about the 5 Cars about the Limited Edition, are the 5 Cars much better (Pay to win)?

I read some stuff about the 3 Preorder cars and that this cars wont change anything if i have them or not... in competition race or how ever u call it.

Will this splitt the community?

Im not sure if i should refund the standard edition or not...

There is no pay to win in Project CARS. Races are split up into classes, just like in real life. You can't race a Pagani Huayra in the SpecE30 class, etc...

The cars weren't really cut, they were cars that weren't essential enough to be finished for release. The preorder funds helped pay for them to actually be finished.

None of the Limited Edition or preorder cars are unbalanced or anything, they're just interesting cars that don't necessarily have anything to race against in the career mode. The M1 Procar for example was a one-make race series, the Sauber C9 is the only Group C car that SMS have made so far, and the C-Coupe is the only modern DTM car ingame so far. As a result, cars like the McLaren 12C GT3 were prioritised in development, as that has 7 rivals in the same class in career. They're all pretty interesting to drive though, and I'm glad they were all finished.

I doubt it will split the community either, at worst you won't be able to join in on multiplayer Procar races because you don't have the only eligible car. The M1 is great to drive though, so you may find a fair few lobbies wanting to race it!

I'd also be wary of key stores as I don't believe there are any authorised resellers so far, and there have been a lot of cases lately of third-party stores selling illegitimate keys that were later revoked (for example the big fuss with Ubisoft revoking a ton of keys bought with stolen credit cards then resold).

Do you not think this question would have been better asked before buying the game from a potentially dodgy keystore?

It's safest to order via Steam. And it is a limited version anyway. Also, if you should buy a physical copy, try Amazon.com. I myself don't trust any other places ever, beside Steam and Amazon.com when comes for video game.

i payed 28 euro 5month ago, i still can refund it... but im not sure to pay almost the double price for 8 cars...

@smiffy i bought the key befor the developer said we cut out some cars and give it only to Limited Edition/Pre-orders. This was August 2014 there was Project Cars not available in steam.

I'd be especially wary then, as the game was only ever going to be sold via Steam on PC - before it went up for purchase on Steam there was no way to buy a PC key at all, so I'm not sure what you've bought.

that was just a pre-order and the shop said they will send it to customers on release.

Sounds pretty fishy to me. Honestly... I'm not sure you would even get your money back, but who knows.

There was an Trailer about the LE in early August 2014 in the very same trailer they also state that there are Pre-Order Cars, so yes, even back then you could and should have known about this before pre-ordering the game on a dodgy site, AFAIK there wasn´t even an official way of pre-ordering the game back then.

Steam price is ridiculous. Why there's no keys on GMG for example? How this game is different from others? When it will be available on GMG? Seriously selling game exclusively on steam is stupid.

I've never paid that much and not going to pay 50€ for a game.
Anyway i'm asking why is this game available only on steam? Why such exclusivity? Almost every other game is available everywhere and you can choose where to buy it from GMG, amazon, gamersgate, gamefly, funstock digital, etc. GMG usually offers pretty good pre-order deals. Not giving us choice is a very bad move.
I would like to hear offcial answer from SMS.
I think i'll create new thread about this.

You can Buy Physical Copies on Amazon and Probably lots of other sites, when it´s released you can buy the Physical thing in your local Store as well. I guess that key´s will be avaiable for Purchase later on other sites as well, it´s probably just a Steam Exclusive Pre-Order thing.
