Project CARS vs Assetto Corsa
I sadly am too late to get into early access of Project CARS, But i do have Assetto Corsa and let me just say the physics on that game are amazing! So I would like to know how Project CARS pares up with Assetto Corsa via physics, sounds, graphics etc.

F1 2010 - 2014 all share the same engine build to run on XBOX 360 and PS3
F1 2015 will be the first game will be build for next gen consoles.

However I have my doubt that CM will up the simulation factor as the majority of their market just wants some fun with a controller. Excpect more "community" and "eye candy" before physics.

I run all the F1 games and apart from some minor things you are just as well off buying 2010 as you are 2013, or 2011 and 2012 for that matter. Once you set it up (minor differences...) they run basically the same. The later versions have a more vibrant look and some extra eye candy.

That said, I still like 2010.

pCars is currently pretty good, a long way since the Shift games.
AC is very good as well.

In the end there are plenty of good (serious) racers available to us, especially if you are not into the latest in graphics eye candy. And if you don't mind some more fun racers, that choice expands into games like the F1, DiRT-series and like.

Been playing Nascar 2003 series the last couple of days (gen6 and Cup90)
Looks like ♥♥♥♥ by today's standards (v7 reflection mod), but still some great close racing.

I may be rambling, but arguing about which game is better just comes down to taste.

Nice! Do you have a list of all the tracks? I checked F1-2013 everywhere online but couldn't find the track list. Same deal with 2014.

In addition, 2013 includes 2 classic tracks - Jerez & Brands Hatch and 2 DLC tracks - Estoril & Imola

2014 doesn't include the classic tracks and just replaces Nurburgring,Yeongam & Suzuka with Hockenheim, Red Bull Ring Spielburg Austria & Sochi.
Another thing worth noting in this discussion, is that ALL screenshots i've ever seen on the pCars homepage are post-processed. Heavily. They want to keep the rumors of the fantastic visuals going. In truth, it looks worse than AC in many places (soft lights) and is not all that spectacular in action (as in actually running on your monitor).

If you have played it you would know this. But the reputation as "prettiest game ever" comes from ppl that base it on screenshots. It's far from that.

It does have some nice effects, but as stated, nothing really spectacular.

AC looks more dynamic and alive. If you should compare visuals.

yeah, also picked up f1 2013 on discount for the great track list mostly.. physics feel very deadened tho, not sure if a wheel is even optimal for anything other than immersion. but worth it to me, with the classic cars (psh) & extra tracks. having imola, brands, etoril etc is a great selection...think i might even have injected hockenheim, though idk if it replaced anotehr tracfk,.

reallyyyyrealllyyyy dont wanna buy f1 2014 at $50, hope pCARS opens up pre-orders anytime now.

At Lewis Puppy: thanks man, that's a great list of tracks, I can see you went to a lot of trouble. Thanks for the effort!

No prob mate. I just copy & pasted from 2013 formula one season wiki.
Project Cars or Assetto Corsa?
Well, what are the main differences between these two? (I mean the games itself, not its develpoment, which I differentiate)

What about graphics? Which one would you recommend, based on what we have already seen?

Thanks
Own both.

I would recommend both, no discussion ^^
AC
-moddable
-dynamic lighting, real time (sun out) time of day, pre-set weather -- sunny, clouds, fog. no rain, no night.
-all official tracks are laserscanned
-small # of official tracks
-large # of fast road cars

pCARS
-not moddable
-full weather & day/night spectrum -- sunny to storm
-large # of official tracks (4 laserscanned)
-large spectrum of race cars
-small # of fast road cars

i think those are the main points, to me, but diff ppl will have different priorities
oh, & i can only really recommend AC, but hoping to be able to recommend pC in a few hrs :)

I would say both. I honestly bought AC months back just to tide me over till Project CARS released, expecting I would probably jump ship as soon as Project Cars was available. But Assetto Corsa far exceeded my expectations once I got into it (a Racing Wheel is a must, controller didn't cut it). It has lots of cars that Project CARS currently lacks, with more planned. I think they are both worth owning. I'll probably stick with Project CARS for multiplayer since it looks a lot more fleshed out as far as options and matchmaking, but I'll definitely be hitting the track in AC from time to time to drive that beautiful Nordschliefe, and whatever other tracks they tackle next. :-)
Both is the best way to go, but if you can only own one, pCARS has more of everything, so it's got the edge.
if you are an super realistic physics lover with an wheel, buy assetto corsa.
if you love games like iracing, stock car extreme, rfactor, buy assetto corsa.
if you dont have a wheel and dont know any games named above, buy project cars.
AC is more focused on realism, this game is pretty good too though, above the average simcade.
