Windows 10 "Background" color Change
I set my Windows 10 "Background" to black. When Project CARS starts, it resets the background to the default "slate" color. After exiting the game, it doesn't return to black.
P-CARS is the only piece of software, game or otherwise, that does this.

Thats a odd one, we do not interfere with the desktop wallpapers in any way.

Yep same here, I'm thinking it changes the color scheme of windows like many games do to "increase performance".

Are there particular or specific computer specs that you want in relation to this issue?

Windows 10 home x64
i5 2500k sandy bridge auto clocked to 4.2
16GB DDR3 auto profiled
Asrock Z68 extreme4 mobo
GTX780 SLI stock clocks
x2 SSD's x1 HDD
No optical drive
On board audio disabled soundblaster Z

All updates in place 10/09/2015
Nvidia driver 355.82

Pcars changes the windows theme but it's not to a "basic" theme just to the default theme

As with the OP this only occures with Pcars and none of the other four or so games I have installed.

Hmmm thats interesting, the specs are good enough, do you have Virtual memory set by default to be managed by the system or do you have a single value set ?

I've set a static pagefile on the drive hosting WIndows 10. It is set to 4984 MB, the size recommended by Windows 10. My defrag (O&O) runs a boot optimization that includes the pagefile on each startup.

No it's managed by the system default values.

Really out of idea guys, if you don't have slideshown enabled there's no reason for our game to interfer with it, plus we would be getting much more reports about it.
Dudley SockPuppet Sep 11, 2015 @ 1:43am
It used-to happen in Win 7 with a lot more games, but since installing Win 10 (clean install) I've only had it happen with Project CARS. It's obviously not a "real" issue, just a little annoying. 8-)
Innocuous Sep 11, 2015 @ 1:57am
Well if that's the case, hopefully I've got slideshow enabled, umm what is "slideshow" like the in game slideshow or the native windows photo viewer slidshow or?
rabellogp Sep 13, 2015 @ 5:16pm
Something similar happens to me. The background image will always change to the orange flowers (first windows 10 default wallpaper on list) no matter what config I use (plain color, single image or slides).

Some feedback if anyone else is looking at this

Has nothing to do with Pcars, in my case at least, I had enabled colored windows title bars by following this guide

http://www.howtogeek.com/222831/how-to-get-colored-window-title-bars-on-windows-10-instead-of-white/

But I failed to move the newly created theme file into the correct windows theme directory and after doing so there is now no issue in Pcars and never was really.

Sneaks off quietly....

Hi guys, same issue this end. Wanted to check if anyone found a fix?
captainchair Oct 8, 2015 @ 11:56pm
Same issue here. Windows 10. Background color solid set to black. I open Pcars and it sets to a light grey... nothing else changes.
