Pcars 1 vs Pcars 2 Donnington National
After removing Pcars 2 from my Hard Drive, decided to try Pcars 1 again just for comparison.

The first obvious thing is the setup and getting access to it, very restrictive in pcars1 though it has to be said, what you choose for the setup is reliable.

The sounds and graphics seem just as good in pcars 1 (no puddles but i can live with that)

The tyre model is def where SMS made the biggest improvement. Where you can catch a slide in pcars2 its not so easy in pcars 1.

The downshift protection in pcars 2 is a big improvement, but only after it was patched. (for most cars anyway)

Finally,. in a race with the AI, I had a small slide at the old hairpin..which pushed me onto the rumble strip and i lost a bit of time to the cars in front....but..WOW no stupid penalty / slow down bla bla bla...have to say that felt really nice.
I am all for track cutting penalties, but the way it is in pcars2, is race ruining and frustrating at times.(in my opinion).

If after patch 1.4 they fixed the save setup bug and give a little more on the corner cutting, just to allow for slight mistakes and side by side racing, then in a few months i will probably reinstall it.

** The other thing that id hope is patched, though i dont know what this is,,,but...i had a car become undriveable in a qualifying session where the setup was the same before and after...so this is a mystery and the reason why ive given up on pcars 2 at the moment. **

I may uninstall soon when gtr3 gets released.
That's annoys me the setup thing great setup one minute then for no reason its a bad setup?????
I'm one the people not to bothered about penalties but I can see they have to do something because it won't belong before game is dead

you shred your tires, burn fuel (weight distribution gets changed) and overheat/cool down the brakes too much, it all does "miracles" with car handling....:D maybe?....just saying , i dont know how detailed are those thing simulated.

Yep, unfortunately after all the hype Project Cars 2 has failed to deliver on so many levels... hugely disappointing after being promised so much. It would appear that the sheer fun factor and playabilty has been sacrificed for the sake of so called 'realism.' I made many friends on PC1 and enjoyed some competitive racing & online time trials... sure it had it's own bugs and problems but it was still 'fun.' I see now many of these friends deserting PC2 playing other racing games which is way too early for that to be happening. Where did it all go wrong SMS? And this is before any major DLC has been released. Such a shame.

I was more than happy playing project cars 1 all I was hoping for with project cars 2 was better visuals on monitor and more so in VR and I'm a bit disappointed on that front. Also finding it hard to find people I give a sh.. About racing in pc2. I think project cars 2 is on the hole a better game if I could just find people I like to race. I think the main problem most people are having is setting up the cars I'm liking this part of the game.
