Why I always spin out?
Hi,

I got this game today, it's very nice... but I always spin out. Im playing with a pad, got ABS on but... I don't know, I can't drive out of a curve without spinning out.
I got this problem by the Kart and by normal cars too...
I can't handle it, I changed the settings but yea, i found no ideal setting,... its very frustrating. ( I checked the setting in the guide...)
I always restarted the kart race, because I crashed every time into the walls.
I don't know how other pad players fix this personal problem, but I can't drive like this at the moment.
The problem is also, that the other drivers are very fast in the curve and I need do handle my "spin-out" problem.
I don't drive with fullspeed in the curves, but a little steering is maybe the problem (?) I dont know.. i hope you can help me..

I hope you have any tips for me, I want to enjoy this game, but this made me a little bit mad. :steamsad:
I know that this compare isn't good at all, but in DiRT Rally I can drive with no problems around every corner.

Im very thankful for every tip!
Thanks.

Could also be throttle handling? Too early? Too quick? Have you tried changing linear curves for example on throttle? Ideal for a pad could be a curve that gradually increases rather then straight linear. Hope this helps. My corner spins (wheel) usually are due to this.. to early and too much throttle

Well, I don't know. Thanks for your answer, but I drove just a Kart and other cars at silverstone, but maybe:
1. I feel like i got no wheel. The car doesn't steer, or
2. I drive into a curve and i make a 360°...
I heard that the wheels must be green to be okay/ normal, but... the KI is driving really normal. (??)
I don't know, I play with a Ps3 Controller and use the throttle on a normal button. (X)
Do you also think that a button like R2 is better? :steamsad:

Maybe I press the throttle too early if I come out a of curve.

Maybe is that your answer to your question: If I'm on the start, and just want to start driving, my wheels are spinning out... and I spin out on the start... (thats the problem with a Aston Martin or something else..., but not with a Kart, on the Kart is the problem that I spined out if I come out a of a curve...)
Do you think that the R2 Button is better, as I said before?!

I can't drive the Sonoma Raceway National with the Astion Martin Racing... the first curve is the end for me... I cant steer with it. I don't know... :(
My settings are from above:
15
0
0
0
10
15
5
45
55
35

Oh man... :(

When I first played this game I span out all the time.

Tombination of too aggressive turning, to much throttle and lack of knowledge of how the car handles.

A mixture of turning down steering sensitiviy and learning on slower cars helped me.Also go slow through corners and just build up the speed as you learn what the car / corner combinations allow.

Stick with it - after an hour or so I thought this game was impossible - now I am having a blast.

So your tip is to drive slowly and learn the "slow-version" and after a few rounds you get faster?
Well, that is a good tip, Ill try it.

Maybe I change my setup, too.
Thanks for your help, I hope that will work, it's very frustrating. :steamsad:

If you have the throttle on a button, then it's just an on / off switch. It's not good. If by R2 you mean the analog trigger then that is a lot better. In a corner, you'd usually hold the throttle at a certain % that's neither 0% nor 100%. A button just doesn't allow you to do that.

Also try turning on TCS (Traction Control System) which reduces spinning out while accelerating. ABS is for braking, not accelerating.

Oh, and the kart is *hard*. Try starting with Ford Focus RS, Scion FR-S, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X... Basically the road cars.

If you use the x button then i believe throttle is either all or nothing? 0 0r 100? Defo try r2

Ill try it with R2 now, but what is your opinion about my setup?!

Is there maybe a problem?!

Thanks for all your help, I really apperciate it.

Okay, Ill test it, maybe the Aston Martin is too fast for beginners, right?

Yeah it kinda is. But when you eventually manage to tame it, you'll know that *you* tamed it.

Well, a normal Renault on Spa works better. It's just my "DiRT"-Brain that I think I can drive into the Rouge with 200 and no breaks... I hope that isn't realistic. :)
I changed the options into R2, so I can "measure" the throttle a way better as with the button.
It's just very strange for me, because I drove my whole life with X = Throttle.

But I've got one more question... if I get on the curbs, is it possible that I do this "spins"?
Because I drove the AMG on Spa, and in the Rouge I touched the curb and got that "drift/ spin effect, too".
I activated the traction controll.

Maybe the tip from ukgamer101 works. I hope so... but the answer from MarleyMoo that the karts are hard is nice to hear.
Maybe the degree of difficult is with ~70-75 a little bit to high. But in the kart event it's not even hard... until I got these spins... :steamsad:

Edit: I got this question, because I never played a simulation game like this.
In DiRT Rally aren't curbs and DiRT 3 and Grid and these arcade racers, arent comparable with Project Cars.

I wouldnt say DirtRally is an arcade game hey, its pretty on the ball as far as car handling and that goes.

But with these car games i cannot sress enough thta a good cheap wheel like a G27 makes a massive differance mate.
You can feather the accelerator and brakes etc plus its not jerking the wheels when using F1 type cars.

Man i was spinning out like crazy and still do. The answer for me was to brake and accelerate only in a straight line. Your tires only have so much available traction, if your splitting it between turning and acceleration spin outs are gonna happen. I love this game its just the right amount of fun and sim :)

Yes I know... but, let me ask, what is your degree of difficulty?
I always blame my setup, because I haven't the optimal grip at the start or something like this...
yesterday I did my first Online-Race with a F1 (never drove it before), it was very hard but it was a lot of fun. I wasn't altough 1st but it was a nice experience.

It's just a thing of practise. The game makes alot of fun, but if you just spinning out... I don't know, that isn't fun, but the tip with the triggers on my pad is better than the buttons.

Thanks.
