Do i need a steering wheel or can I play this game with a controller?

you can play with a controler - you might need to adjust settings a bit though

You can but get a wheel they don't cost much and it makes playing better. Some people are good with controllers but some are rubbish and are all over the place. Sometimes in multiplayer its hard racing some people with controllers racing side by side they end up crashing into you and most lobby will end up kicking you.

I go car booting and see them all the time cheap. I got a Logitech g27 and stand £45, thrust master tmx £10, Logitech Gt force £8. And cex sell them from £10

Pssst, unless you really are strapped for cash, the sequel is out in 2-3 weeks. Joypad support is said to be much improved.

I play with keyboard, in Solo and Career i think it's enough. I also tried with Xbox controller but I can't played with that, however I never used controllers. In my opinion if you prefer contorllers you can play with that, or with keyboard. If you want a real driving simulator experience then buy a steering wheel.

The devs put out a video indicating how they PREFER gamers to use a Wheel, but they also specifically indicated they have done a lot of work to make driving with a controller as perfect as any driving game can be as of 2017.

It will be great to drive using a controller, without any tweaking. That said, there will likely be some game-settings for any additional preferences.
