Try searching youtube for how to calibrate your wheel and pedals, if you can't find it ^.^ Hope it helps.
The setups you found are "just" car setups right, and not controller/wheel settings?
Try and see if you're able to calibrate your wheel and pedals in the controller menu - I don't own a wheel myself, but while researching for unsupported (read: cheap) wheels in the forums I read that i.e the T80 worked when selecting a certain profile and calibrating it.
You shouldn't get micro zigzags though going in a straight line though, and again I really think some calibration is needed.
And yeah.. Those real settings aren't for "fun". I'm mostly only driving nordsleife, and I've only managed to complete ~7 laps.. And I've driven way more than 1000km.. Nordsleife is "only" 20.something hahah..
I've never taken racing corners at high speeds like the ones in game, but I have certainly been beyond 100mph on a few occasions.
However it's tough to compare - On a motorway the "corners" are usually long and wide, so if you're feeling you're going to fast, simply lifting the throttle in your/my PoS car is enough to decelerate it to safer speeds :)
Translating that into in-game situations where you're driving a +3-400HP beast doing +150mph and facing a 60-90 degree corner is different :D
Regarding real settings, It is a sim, so I shouldn't be taking a corner trying to Tokyo Drift it, but I think Nordsleife is the only track i've completed with real settings without crashing, but again, there are so many times when I just "seem to randomly" lost traction. Guess i'll just have to get used to it.
And again, these are race cars, so it's not like they have power steering, power pedals and all those stuff that makes driving cars easier on the road.
Not sure if you already been there, but I did some reading here:
http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?41376-Thrustmaster-T150-Force-Feedback-Setting-Suggestions
People report different issues, and a couple report different solutions.
The second page has some settings, I haven't dived into it much more.
Furthermore I found this site:
http://pcars.oscarolim.pt/
It might be interesting to you - I just found out about it, but it might not be for me.
I will definitely try and fiddle with the FFB settings for one car/track, but I don't expect much improvement on my pad :/
Regarding real settings:
The first portion of your comment seems to have more to do with your wheel (and others) being finicky to setup - I'm still surprised you manged a lap on nordsleife though.
It might not have the toughest corners but its still grueling.
You are right about the tokyo comment though - I hope the Project Cars forum might be more helpful, even though most/all topics are pretty dated.
Most cars have power steering, even (IRL) formula 1 regulations have power steering allowed.
Then there's the Evo, Aston, BMWs and the rest of the "normal" cars :p
It's just semantics, I know, but I couldn't help myself.
Again - I hope you're able to fix your issue.
This made me kinda weary of buying one myself. The T150 was on my top5.
No problem, everyone has different issues that have unique solutions, just wasn't sure if my issue was a common one xd. I'll start tinkering with settings since i've found the "top search results" and not such luck. But again, this could be because i'm using real settings. When I turn on the 3 assists (anti-brake, stability, and traction), i'm able to complete laps without spinning out as much as I did with real. Not amazing times, but not crashing/ spinning out as much. Again, i'll probably just fiddle with wheel settings since the wheel itself (even though it's geared) is actually pretty smooth. It's just when I start driving fast, turning it feels notchy. I'll do more research on the pccars forum and give that ffb fix thread a look in this steam discussion.
@AgentRuby Thx for the tip and setup. I'll definetly look into it. Sometime this week, i'll look through the settings and adjust accordingly. Either that or i'll just get used to it xd. Currently, it's not as bad as before, so hopefully I can find a "fix" or find something that works well for me.
Sorry for being curious, but why did you have to remove your previous comment? (I didn't get to see it xD).
And thanks a bunch for mentioning the software - It would probably have taken me a while to find, even if I eventually end up buying a wheel.
Glad you finally got qualified help Dwang :D
