Both CD -Keys not working - SOLVED

After installation it wants me to enter a CD-Key. I tried both keys (For default game and the one for the expansion) but it always just says "The Serial number is Wrong". A few years ago I could play it without any problems. But now it doesn't seem to work anymore.


!!!UPDATE 2022-09-13!!!

I was able to get it working by using the CD-Key of the "Grand Ages: Rome Expansion" (Reign of Augustus) and just entering it into the box without the hyphens.

Example:
If your key is "ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP-QRST" just enter it as "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST"

After doing that it seems to accept the key, at least for me. I hope this is also the case for other people.

Same thing happened to me. Another discussion said to check Caps Lock, but that's not my problem

I think the validating server from the company was shutdown

Same. Reinstalled a few weeks ago, expansion key worked fine. Just went to play it and it's asking for the damn key again (wtf?) and none of the keys work now.

Same problem, almost a year later! Looks like Kalypso Media doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about its customers.

You shouldn't need the key again, Can't you just log into the account? User name and PW it should just start up. I dunno if there is a work around, but all my Kaylpso games work like that.

Same here i had to ask a refund, both keys werent working, i reported this game to steam, its crazy it is still on sale here while you simply cannot launch it.

Did you contact Kalypso support? I've not had any issue with this game running. I do know a few that did have this issue, support was able to help them. I've seen it happen with tropico 4, it always got sorted out with an e-mail. It's a pain but hey crap happens.

One other thought, if you didn't buy the game through steam and used a key sites, I've seen keys from those places get deactivated months or even years later.
