just started this game and getting the hang of it,but how do i generate more armies of men to complete level 2? thanks

To get more troops, you'll need to build barracks (the single cohort given by the outpost's obviously insufficient). To do that, you'll need a forum first. Also, you can only recruit soldiers after having aequites in your city, so you should prepare your settlement to have a few aequites houses first (grant them food variety and entertainment, or it won't fly). Lastly, you'll need a weaponsmith near the barracks to arm foot soldiers and archers. You can also build cavalrymen (aequites per se), but you'll need a stable nearby as well. Remember to check the reach for each building before placing it.

thanks so much for the help.also having trouble on time level where i have to build up farms ect to 50 per cent.there doesnt seem enough time for upgrding and not enough land.any tips on this?thanks.

Build around 10-15 insulae. usually 5 for farms. one for herbalist. one for school. two for mills. three for market, butcher, baker. build a temple of saturn covering all the above insulae to keep the denarii flowing. Also denarii income depends on which family you have chosen to play. Flavii and the Lucii work best generally. Once you have the money streaming in , build equites to get recruits. followed by a weaponsmith followed by a barracks and train archers.
