Once you're in the game there's no difference. If you're going to play on Deck then it's much easier to install and play from Steam compared to the process required to get the bnet version working.
I own the Game on B.net already.
Now, If i buy Vessel of Hatred inkl. D4 basegame on steam, is my version in b.net upgraded to Vessel of Hatred aswell?
Background:
As stated by "Flat Earth Defender", I also own a steamdeck and want to play on deck from time to time.
I tried the Lutris installation via b.net and think this is way to much hazzle, which is why iI am open to by the complete game (d4 + VoH) once more via steam, IF my bnet version is upgraded in the process.
Answers here are much appreciated!!
NO. For obvious reasons but to spell it out. Different platforms with different licenses. If you want the games version to be upgraded you need to buy the full base + expansion version on steam. Essentially you need to double dip.
Did I understand that correct?
This is just completely incorrect. I own the game on both, and I haven't touched the Bnet version since picking it up on Steam.
Exactly, I own Ultimate edition on Bnet and Standard on Steam, I have all cosmetics from Ultimate edition when I play via Steam
That's a strange hill to die on, but to each their own lol
Still, going to stay with the Lutris version on steamdeack and buy the ultimate expansion an bnet...
thanks so much guys. steam community is just great! <3

What does it?
„No Steam Launchers“ is basically just a little script which is installing any wanted (you choose from list) game launcher like Battle.net, Epic, GoG etc. which will be installed directly to your Steam Deck for you. No need to hassle. You can choose if you want it to be internal or on your SD card and even install other things like streaming services(Netflix, Disney+ etc.) or Cloud/remote gaming services like Xbox Cloud worth one touch.
- Easy to install
- works like a charm
- no need for any additional emulation or tool layer running like Lutris does
