the blacksmith...just salvage it like any other piece of equipment...there;s a warning prompt but just hit O.K.

If you've favorited it you must unfavorite it. Press space on the item to change it's status

at the blacksmith click the pickaxe button and manually target the uber unique. Though you're really better off selling them if not useful, the mats they give you are rather minor.
